Just beat it.
Excellent, excellent game.

Also, for all the sadists out there, you unlock hardcore mode after beating the game, which "grants" you:
-bare minimum health packs
-next to no ammo
-you can only die 3 times during the entire game
-there are no checkpoints, if you die you restart back at the "hard save" point.

On the flip side, you get to keep your gear from the previous playthrough, and some experimental RIG suits are unlocked.

Doesn't they put a limit on saves too, I think I read that you can only save three times during the entire game.

I highly doubt that. Its completely unnatural to walk around as if you're constantly looking through binoculars, it also feels like every room has no sense of true scale for instance i look at an exit door ahead of me in a medium/small sized room and i cant figure out exactly how far away the door is until im close to it, im sure Isaac doesnt see it like that so why should we?

I also feel like they shot themslves in the foot in the opening sequence where the aliens are jumping out of the rooms to the sides and you can only see their claws so basicly you missed the carefully crafted animations of them jumping out from the sides, because of the FOV.

The game would lose some of its scare factor with a higher fov, since you would be able to see too much of the stuff that is behind him, Isaac would more or like have eyes in the back of his head.

There was no mention of that in the message after the credits.
Maybe I missed it, though.

Chapter 13 now and 6 hrs and 25 minutes in. Game is fantastic. Gameplay is much improved and Isaac voice work makes him feel like a bad ass. Really loving this game and storyline is fantastic. Level design is much more varied than first game and that is a great thing. Revisiting parts of first game was too cool. I give this game a solid 9/10.

Haven't tested MP yet but for 30 smokes, bang for buck is amazing. Finally, great thing is that you can replay using all the upgrades. Would love to upgrade more weapons. I played the entire game using only 4 weapons (plasma cutter, line gun, seeker rifle and pulse rifle). Just the kind of weapons I love.

On my next playthrough maybe I try all the energy and blade weapons.

Just beat the game 10 minutes ago. Steam said I had 12 hours logged and the games says 9 hours 56 minutes.
I only used the plasma cutter and the pulse rifle fully upgraded as well as the suit. Pretty good game however near the end that whole segment really well... got me going.
I have nothing witty to say.

wonder if anyone can confirm if this method works for DS2....

There is a simply way I got MLAA, etc working (Win7/Vista) 1. Install Cat 10.12 (CCC2 preferred) then reboot 2. Next open up CCC and navigate to Software and check your 2D Driver File Path. The registry location for some may not be the same for others. For some it maybe...

Excelent game, worthed every penny

One of the greatest moments EVER in FPS is when : The alien plays tag with you, theres a big warehouse with lots of big crates and containers, the aliens keep "tagging" you. Almost like they're playing instead of trying to kill you. they hide on the crates and watch you.

Did anybody not have problems with the final battle? Playing on Survivalist which up till the end was very fair. If necros get close you die after a few swipes but other than that good ammo and money.

End battle was super irrirating, first time I didn't have enough ammo and tried that a dozen times. Reloaded and tried to go in with more ammo which helped greatly but still incredibly annoying final battle that I tried a further dozen times before finishing it.

Apart from that it was a very good game. No huge changes over the original but a few new enemies, Isaac speaking, and better zero-G are more than enough. Not quite as long as the original for me ~10 vs 11 hours but very much worth it. Funny bit at the end for those who finished the first one

Regeneration necro returns, but I never killed him. I just ran in front until the last battle or can you kill him?

No.

I was very frustrated with that part of the game but I made it eventually.
Hit a couple of bad luck snags that would have pissed anyone off.

I loved how he refused to touch Nicole and also let go of Ellie in Chapter 13. I was like, "Isaac your cajones be big, son!".

Awesome game and a very worthy sequel. The end bit of the game took me quite a few tries. Definitely worth the money I paid, I still wouldn't have paid £40 for it though.

Also bug free for me which is rare for a game these days, but then again in the credits there were like a billion Q/A testers.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet.

I think ill buy this game (seems people like it, and i did like the first game so). Hopefully the low FOV doesnt bother me (probably will since im used to ~100hFOV in games and if i play one with 60ish hFOV i will defiantly get annoyed <.<).

I played the first game at 1280X1024 so i guess i´ll manage

Great game, finally finished it today. Everything about this game was better than the first (except the last fight), and I thought the first was awesome.

The EyeFinity problem with the menus is affecting nVidia surround users too, so it's clearly a game engine problem. It's a small annoyance because once you are done with the menus, triple screen works flawlessly in game, but I hope they fix it in a patch.

15 chapters, but chapter 15 is more or less just a bossfight.

Havent gotten into the game much because A) the fov is annoying, and B) I got jacked up graphics with my 4850. Its hard to explain, but there are lines up and down at random times. Anyone else? I have the newest drivers.

And for the love of God, why cant you use two movement buttons together. Such as forward and left, to go diagonal in that direction. Its one or the other. Almost wish I had gotten this on my PS3.

edit, with pics

Good.

Bad.

You cant really tell because the pics are so small.

I think you actually can, but when you move diagonally it's at a very slow rate. I'm assuming they did this to hinder your movement and make battles more intense since you can't run fast to your left or right unless you first face towards those directions.
