The game had sold well on the PC so I was confident it would come out. It's not like Epic is making it.

I doubt it since it will most likely be the same engine.

It's EA, it won't be delayed but it will be released like a piece of **** with no patch in sight for 2 months..

Dead Space 1 didn't need a patch. It was rock solid out of the gate, to the extreme credit of its developers. Not many PC games you can say that about. Not having MP certainly helped, and I hope they continue that trend because I think it results in better, more solid single player games; but sadly I bet they'll probably be pressured to add MP to the sequel.

Yeah, this is one game that doesn't need multiplayer. Single player only please. And yes, the game/engine was very stable and implemented more completely and fluid than almost any other game I've ever played.

I actually didn't think it was scary at all. But nonetheless was a really good game with a good engine and some really unique ideas that melded together naturally.

I really like how they didn't have a HUD and still was able to display that to both the controllable character and the player in a way that made a lot of sense.

The stupid thing about the game was that they emphasized "strategic dismemberment", which just meant chop off at least two limbs instead of shooting the head or torso. Perhaps if they had some more unique necromorphs, not really shaped humans, that whole strategy would make more sense. But as it was it only meant to target alternative spots on the enemies.

i'm aware that it's a good game. the reason i didn't get it when it came out was because it has limited activations, which was just total bs as far as i'm concerned. i've been tempted to pick it up many times over the past year, but for some reason or the other i end up not buying it. i'm also a total chicken when it comes to horror games , but it's not a dealbreaker

With two games, a comic spin-off, and an animated prequel, several sources feed into and expand the lore of Dead Space. Dead Space 2 incorporates all of this material and moves it forward. “Everything that happens in Dead Space 1 is relevant to what happens in Dead Space 2,” Visceral Game’s senior production designer Ben Wanat told us. With that in mind, we combed through the game logs and grilled the franchise's creative team to unearth a few clues that hint to where the franchise is headed next."

Games have become less graphics dependent and especially with the sequals going around the flaws of first games can be changed with a pure focus on gameplay since the same engine will pretty much be reused.

If they finally find a way to make a control perhipheral for consoles thats as accurate as a mouse. While always being able to display at 1080p for whatever comes next. I might switch to a console.

But then again it proves how it obviously doesn't matter, we'll hear it another thousand times if it's well told. This game could have fallen into many traps that would bury it into mediocracy - one thing that I see keeps many people away from the game is the scare factor... believe it or not, the game didn't fall into the trap of becoming the gore fest with swarms of zombies constantly rushing at ya, or constantly jumping out at your face from closets in dark corners... it's not d3, it's not l4d, not by a long shot. Well there are swarming zombies but it's really not like that. It is but it's not.

I'd say it's a very well done and balanced game. Hopefully they don't head at wrong direction in the 2.
