discarding an install problem (which is a know problem I found out) I haven't had a single problem with the game.
No sound stuttering
no gfx errors, must be the driver still using cat. 3.10 (to lazy to install a new and wont until 4.12 goes final... at least)
worried when seeing all the 'I have problems' threads before I got to play it myself.

I occasionally get a very brief (1-2 sec.) audio stutter after loading a new portion of a level. I don't have any crashes, graphical corruption, freezing, or lagging. I believe I have the 4.10 CATS. I downloaded with Steam.
Except for a 1 sec pause after first loading a new level, all else smooth as silk and sounds are like butter.

Im an ATI voucher person who has the bronze package, I did not get to verify my game until 8:30 a.m. on the 16th, It took about six minutes with no issues at all

The program have no major problems. It gets pretty good fps on my 9600 pro at 1024X768X32. But in the menu, the edges of the "warehouse" have this "shaky" effect. I hope this will be resolved in the next patch.

The game is running great for me but I do have one minor problem. I have sprint and zoom mapped to the thumb buttons on my MX500. Sometimes when I load the game up neither will be active. If I restart it they work, weird.
Me too. Been playing @1280x960 with 4xAA and 8xAF and only once or twice was it choppy. (/me pets the old 9800)
For a while I thought I had the stutter problem. Then I realized that HL2 autosaves so often. Occasionally the autosave causes a slight, noticeable delay. Not really a problem since I never quicksave the autosave is very handy.
I have no issues with a 9500pro oc'ed, 1gb ram, 3200+ Barton, Soundstorm DD5.1 audio.
I think there are so many people with problems because the game is so damn popular. Of course there will be more people with problems if there are more people buying the game. I don't think this game has a higher "proportion" of people with issues (eg, x% of users)
Steam would have been a resounding success if the game wasn't so damn popular I love the idea of getting the game online straight from the developer, and look forward to more Steam-like purchases. First PC game I've bought in a LONG time, and proud of it.

I had ONE CTD. Otherwise, perfectly smooth and bug free ride. Ready to re-play it again!

0 problems, system in my sig. is up to date, minus the audio. Just reformatted and haven't installed my Audigy Drivers yet so I'm using the Nforce Onboard audio. The sound is very very good, even with the Nforce audio and a set of old Yamaha MST 2.1 speakers
I just installed the game a few hours ago; one problem, disk 4 had errors on it as I didnt know that I had to install counterstrike.. Other than that, everything is peacy smooth, no discernable image problems, no popping sounds..
Im currently at black mesa east with "DOG"...

Zero problems and have enjoyed every single minute thus far! The only downside I see is that I know the game will end but with this engine I can only imagine the mods that will be coming out. Valve is again one step ahead of all other game makers. I was blown away by Far Cry and Doom3 and HL2 seems to have made me forgets those two. Well worth the wait! By the way that was not a shot at FC and D3 I enjoyed both games.
I did the tweaks with heap size and no problems. Well, after the level loads I get like 3 second stutters(like record skipping) after that no problem at all.

Samething here, running it at 1024x768 4xAA 8xAF set in the game not in my control panel. Runs nice and smooth.

Well, after my release hour authentication I was really upset that I could not play the game because of crash to desktop. I was instructed to delete the game, and capture off of steam anew. Since then, completely problem free! I hear it is a cache problem?
