    Games Finished February 2023

Going on now for 6th year! I hope it has helped you as it helped me keeping my backlogs in check while enjoying my games.

Not every month someone will be finishing a lot, as there are months where a person just can't finish anything. Then you got that streak going in another month.

Also, if you plan to replay the game, it is fine but don't repeat it at a later month as first completion is what counts.

Another thing is the criteria of what is considered completed in unclear games such as team based multiplayer games; I would say set a target for that. E.g. I considered Overwatch completed when I reached level 100. Or when I finished story mode (which was a long movie sequence) in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. You decide what you consider is completed as long as it is reasonable to a certain extend and correlate-able to a single player experience.

DLC completed at a separate time from the main game and has enough content (+1 hour) can be counted as a separate completion.

Console completions can be accepted as long as the main focus is still PC overall.

    Completed Games:

    712-Dead Space (Remake)
    713-Forspoken

So February was a slower month for me due to Forspoken :/:

712-Dead Space (Remake): Amazing game but what makes it fall short from greatness is the stutters on PC.

713-Forspoken: What a turd. A turd I pre-ordered and regret. Though I admit one reason that made me jump at it is the Direct Storage tech. It was great but not enough to make the game worth getting (obviously). Still, I spent 60 hours and did everything the game offers except maxing the spells because some of those challenges are just too stupid. I suffered through this so noone should.

        Only three this month. Been busy with ongoing titles like DCS and Project CARS 2. Also a couple I gave up on as they weren't much good. The three I did beat were;
Lorelai - Horror Point and Click
Grow Song of the Evertree - Cute but generic world builder/farming game.
Birth - Strange but likeable Point and Click.

One, Metroid Prime Remastered, this one is pretty much tied with Dead Space as one of the best remastering efforts ever.

Witcher 3 continues to be my focus.

I managed to put the last hour into Metro Last Light Redux anyway, so 1 for me. 6/10. The linearity and reliance on scripted events that sometimes caused things to not work, invisible walls, and times where enemies keep respawning and it's not clear you're supposed to ignore them this time... Made it a less than stellar game for me.

Short month but managed to finish 3 since I was on vacation for half of it:
                • Final Fantasy VII Remake and DLC
                • Pentiment
                • Atomic Heart

I got one game finished, that was actually on a real backlog. As in, an actual game that I bought years ago, with the intention of finishing it some time. Can't say I really enjoyed Spec Ops: The Line, but that's my one game finished for February.

Valheim took up most of my time, and I put a few hours into The Captain. Wasn't willing to put another 15 or so hours into The Captain though, so I've dropped it.

Big month for me in Feb with a total of 7 (seven):

Armed with Wings: Rearmed - Apparently the modern remake of a classic flash game that I never hear of. Good little game if you can get it on sale

Avatarika - A turd rolled up in a MMO rolled up in another turd.

Balloon Blowout - I hate myself for liking this insipid "click to pop" game but the price is right

Bane of Asphodel - Nice art style, price is right, everything else is a pass.

Bionic Heart 2 - A VN with "Social Boss Fights". I have no wish to play the 1st one or any future ones. Good concept but glad I got it cheap in a bundle because the price is just stupidly high for this game.

Blind Trust - "Blind Trust is a two-player, cooperative game where the deaf leads the blind on a fantasy island." Yep, have a friend you don't want to be a friend anymore? Then try this game out. Basically local Co-Op only. Yes, in 2023 you can only play with somebody else on your local network.

Rain World - I don't normally really enjoy platformers ... this is an exception. A bit steep at it's current asking price, it's worth it at 50% off.

Three good games, one push and three turds. A nice mixed month.

1 - Dying Light: The Following - An interesting twist with having buggies instead of as much parkour. The driving was pretty satisfying and the new map was a decent showcase for it. On the downside, some of the climbing mechanics didn't work as well as within the city--there were issues with being able to hook reliably onto the cliffs, and I had several frustrating death falls on the towers. The main story line was a bit on the weaker side, unfortunately. The basic idea seemed decent, but a lot more could have been done with it, in my opinion. The pacing also was inconsistent due to how the side missions and main missions interacted. The game seemed long at first, but then once the side missions ran out, it seemed to end very abruptly. On the whole, I recommend it if you enjoyed the main campaign of Dying Light, but your life won't be empty if you miss it. I'd give it probably a 7/10, but the sudden ending left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
