Its time Bitches! Get ready for a cluster F*** or smooth sailing. Once again it was a cluster F*** for me as it took 4 attempts before it completed successfully. And once again Microsoft doesn't tell you when its crashing what is causing it to crash so its a total guessing game. I finally got it to work by pulling every thing out of the ports and uninstalling Malwarebytes. Who the hell knows which one was causing the problem!

Crashes during windows upgrades might be identifiable by using the MEMORY.DMP file from the temporary windows installation folder (NOT C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP, is called something like ~something).
Open the dump file with windbg and let it analyze the file. It more often than not is able to pinpoint the module/driver that caused the kernel crash.

Cluster****.
Installed it on my gaming rig -> nVidia BSOD's, slowdowns, IRQ started churning 100% and other weird issues.
Until nv gets a new driver out (and maybe one after it) I wouldn't install it.:: We are all the sum of our tears.

Probably going to require a few patches in the next 3 months to get it purring again, Or I have to do a full reinstall from scratch which I am not willing to do at this time. Will live with the occasional glitches until stuff gets ironed out. Perfectly stable after everything loads up for me.

Just noticed fast startup is no longer working even though it shows as enabled in power options (I can tell it takes longer to boot up after "shut down", also the CPU uptime counter is reset confirming it did not do a fast startup). Seems to have started since the 2004 update
Any idea on how to figure out what is causing fast startup to not work? I did the 2004 update on my laptop and the fast startup still works there.

Wondering if I should disable fast startup now that you said that...
EDIT - just noticed Cortana as one of my startup items in task manager (it was disabled, but wondering why it got in there)

I think Ultra fast boot is broken in 2004. So far so good after turning it off, haven't had login hang since turning it off. I cant believe these things were not experienced while it was being tested.
Edit: Definitely looks like Ultra Fast boot is broken, since turning it off no hangs after login on boot up.Last edited by Nascar24; May 31, 2020, 12:02 PM.

This update is a POS, so I was like wth I will update a PC I just put together and has nothing on it and I just installed 1909 on it about a month or less ago, Just basically using it as a cable box for comcast. First attempt, Does its reboot and blue screensThis should be a pretty standard no frills update, Old Intel 6600K with just its onboard graphics. Trying one more time but I bet it blue screens again. There is literally nothing installed on this thing. Microsoft you are sucking as of the last year or more with your updates.
Edit: 2nd attempt works without a hitch, stupid!Last edited by Nascar24; May 30, 2020, 02:15 PM.

Had to revert because Apt-X Bluetooth audio is broken.
Any ideas why it auto installed?
Or at least that's the behavior I saw on my brother's PC that I just helped him set up. I installed the Pro edition of 1909 on it this past Thursday and pulled down all the updates, and then sometime after I powered it back on the following day, the upgrade was there when I went to check for updates again. But it wasn't installing on its own, and AFAIK it's still there waiting for him to choose to install it. I didn't tweak/disable anything on the machine as far as WU goes, either (it's completely stock).just ignore the smoke and smile.

For the record, my HTPC (4570 + R7 250) went like a hot knife through butter...
Lappy was a different story.
Even I as I was reinstalling 2004 was again downloading and preparing to install on it's own... (From a 1909 install USB). And this is with AUOptions set to 2 in the registry...
So I postponed feature update 365 days

I tried a 2nd time on my work laptop and its just plain out a no go, blue screened again on setup. then after all that and the tool gives you the go ahead on the install, I access Windows update under settings and it states its not quite ready for my laptop yet! Thanks for wasting my time Microsoft with your update tool, shouldn't it tell me the same thing before I even start.
