Can someone point me to an article that details how to connect a PC running Windows Vista NON-Business/Ultimate Edition to a Windows Server 2003 machine running in a Workgroup? Or, if you want, you can post the directions here.
What do you mean by connect? Browse a share?
You can change the default Vista workgroup from WORKGROUP to something else by right-clicking on My Computer, select properties, and then in the 'Computer Name' section click on 'Change Settings' to change the workgroup name. If you can't see the server in the network map, check if the server has LLTD protocol working - some NIC's don't support it.
How do you install the LLTD Responder on Server 2003? Did they release an installer for that OS? I haven't had a day off since May 27th and don't have a day off till June 24th. I'm a little fried. Be gentle...
I just did a search and it seems the only way to install the LLTD on Server 2003 is to hack it in. I don't want to help a client with this over the phone.
Thanks Jim. I found some directions specific to doing this on Server 2K3. Still don't want to walk a newb through this over the phone. Why not just release a package for 2K3 Microsoft???????????
