Any reason to install vista 64?

Currently all my stuff is working perfectly on vista 32 except with one thing: I have only 2.5 gb ram available out of my 4. However in all the games ive played I've only seen COD4 use 2.1 gb out of 2.5. So any reason to install 64?

Nevermind. Installed vista 64 SP1 streamlined without a hitch. Even the fact that I have 4gb of ram, 2 diffirent video cards, and x-fi didnt give me any problems. All running smooth

I just switched back to 64, after updating some software drivers, and software, plus upgrading to 4gig of RAM makes life bearable with Vista Ultimate x64 At least I know what to expect the second time around. Life is good.

I was thinking the same since the GX2 sucks up about 1gb of ram. So how much do you have available now once you boot to the desktop.

2.5 gb free, 1.5gb used on idle. I don't mind though, everything is a rocket now.

You won't lose that 1gig of RAM under Vista 64!!! Corsair has an excellent article on gaming and 4 gig of RAM here: (warning PDF file!!!) Gaming Performance Analysis – 4GB vs 2GB. It also explains the limitations of 32 vs 64bit memory usage, and also includes some benchmarks, including, dare I say, Crysis!

Again excellent article for anyone thinking of using 4gig of memory with mega memory v-cards in a 32bit OS.
