$1000 need decent gaming laptop

Another 2+ years and another need for a laptop for my son.

Budget $1000
Preferences

6-8 core CPU
RTX 3060 or better
14 inch screen (15+ won’t work)
16 GB ram
512-1 TB HDD

Can’t decide what to do as most laptops with these specs are pushing 1500-1800.

Any deals. Post links for Amazon or Newegg please.

The Lenovo Legion 5 with an RTX 3060 cost me $1200 iirc. I think the 3050 version can be had for ~$1k, but I think you might have to stretch the budget a bit unless you buy used, for those specs anyway. I shopped pretty thoroughly before buying not too long ago and didn’t see anything fitting the ask.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went to the shop and got the kid's battery pack and keyboard changed for AED 450 instead ($122). .

Saved a bunch of cash for now. When he goes to Uni next year maybe that is when I get him a newer laptop.

Oh it’s a fantastic value. Thanks again for pointing it out to me.

KAC needs a 14” laptop though, and brands like Razer and Alienware come to mind, or the cheaper build quality with lower specs that are out there.

I’d have to recommend searching for a used one.

He has a Lenovo laptop already which was not cheap. Just got the repairs done to increase longevity as everything else is working fine.
Also he has a 10700 / 32 G / 3080 Ti desktop.

Think he is doing fine.

You blow millions of dollars on GPU's but limit your son to $1000 notebook....
