I personally don't like this, I think we need Intel to do badly and suffer for a few more years so that amd can actually get better financially in the medium term. If Intel made a curbstomp comeback too fast we're going back to Intel monopoly again by 2023-2025.
I guess it's the trend nowdays with games; either you are a hardcore PC GAME, or you live long enough to see yourself become a console port

KAC needs asap to spend another 3000$ in PC components so it's fine ...
This new intel platform is so critical to his life ...

Yeah funny thing is you seem to be doing that a lot and you're also focusing exclusively on KAC :\

I see price leakes are out and it’s not going to be cheap, it is sounding like, also as far as gaming goes until GPU’s catch up I don’t see where your gaining much even if better.
I mean AlderLake has been leaked to be significantly faster than the 5950X with less cores and entry level DDR5, and Sapphire Rapids should be an extension of that.

All talk. He only recently became the CEO in Jan of this year. The plans for chips where already in place before him. He can't change what's about to happen yet. But if the chips are good, yay. But his influence on that was probably nothing.
They also likely won't have the ability to make enough to meet demand anyway to keep pricing low. And they can't solve that problem for a couple years. The best they can do is try to push this crappy generation of chips on 10nm to their limits and ride it out till they can switch away from 10nm.

Prices for everything, not just electronics, have gone up. The shipping supply chains are completely fubared right now. To the level that large companies like Walmart, Target and Costco are chartering their own container ships so they can try and get around the massive backlogs at major ports.

Trucking here in the US is totally f***ed as well. My stepdad works in the freight/logistics industry and he is hating life lately. After battling the lack of air freight availability last year, he now is having issues getting ground shipments moving.

the real news is that 40% increase leak was on windows 11 which we now know has a core optimization issue with amd costing 15% performance so that 40% just became 25% and with the new amd 3d cache chips coming up with more optimizations you are looking at a likely ~15% gain which still puts intel in the lead but not by a whole heck of a lot and I have a feeling that once we see real numbers that will shrink further.

One of the more outlandish claims includes information about the Q4 Alder Lake supply that is expected to be limited to only 300,000 units, which would lead to significantly increased prices. Things are getting really iffy when the Chinese leaker starts explaining that the big.LITTLE hybrid core architecture does not work on Windows 10, where the big cores are completely disabled, then he drops the bomb stating that DDR5 RAM kits need to be overclocked to at least 8000 MT/s in order to notice any performance gains over DDR4-3600.
All rumor of course. But if Big.LITTLE is not working properly on Win10... that would be abit of a disaster if it's not fixed before release.

Will know soon enough, doesn't sound as great as Intel makes it out to be, but that is normal for Intel, and I really don't care if I get 600FPS instead of 550FPS in CS:GO.
Intel Alder Lake Doesn't Look Like an Overclockers Dream
An all core P-core overclock, with the E-cores at default requires quite the Voltage bump as well, since according to the leaked information, going from 4.9 GHz and a power draw of 233 Watts, with a CPU Voltage of 1.275 V to 5.2 GHz, sees a jump of almost 100 Watts. The CPU Voltage also has to be bumped to 1.38 V in the sample used. However, pushing the CPU to 5.3 GHz requires 1.44 V and pushes the CPU power to a massive 400 W, which is high-end GPU territory. That said, we're hearing that not all CPUs need this high Voltage to hit 5.2 GHz, although we also understand that 5.3 GHz is not a speed that will be easily attained. Apparently the best way to get the most performance out of these news CPUs will be to tune the turbo settings, rather than to try and overclock them.

I'm expecting these to be... whelming? So not all that impressive for enthusiast and really not that bad overall. While also being expensive for what they are and not really available. Intel doesn't have allot of 10nm capacity and demand is sky high.

All-core OC started to die with 10th gen. It's an archaic way of doing things .. wouldn't expect ADL to respond well to an all-core especially with the way the chip is designed.
I do think the chip will be power-hungry. Hopefully we can run direct-die easily and it won't be an issue.

Yeh with my 11th gen it's all about turbo frequencies and ABT. A manual all core OC doesn't produce great results as you leave a good chunk of performance on the table when all cores are not in use, which is the vast majority of cases.
Currently have mine at 5.4 (2c), 5.3 (4c), and 5.1 all core, but that goes up by 1 multi to 5.5, 5.4, 5.2, if ABT requirements are met (power & temp) which is often the case.
I think the turbo ratio will work much better with ADL + Win11 as currently you rarely see the low thread/high core speeds due to enough background processes not allowing it to happen. With the Big Little, all Window processes should be assigned to the little cores allowing the 16 big threads to properly scale with load.
