    Computer Chair

Where exactly do office/computer chairs go? Posting here for now.

I need a new office chair and have been putting it off for...years?

There is the obvious stuff by Steelcase and Herman Miller, but I'm considering the lower priced stuff too. I keep seeing a lot of good things about the ErgoChair 2. Every review I've read so far has been good, except for one. He had issues with the lumbar support and headrest, but he was also 6'5". I'm 6'0", so I have no clue if the same issues might apply. He was simply out of range of the adjustment mechanisms.

Anyone actually sat in one of these things? It shows a return period of 30 days, but no clue how much of a pain that might be.
    ErgoChair 2

Any thoughts or other recommendations? Looking for something with a range of adjustments, high back, and preferably a headrest.

Chairs are so personal that I would not buy one that I did not try myself and see how it felt.

Yeah, problem is that's not an option. Which is why I've been using my janky busted one for years.

The Ergo has a 30 day trial. Would be a pain to return, but it's an option. Open to anything else with a solid review history or trial though too.

Maybe something like the Nowy Styl Net Motion? As Acroig pointed out, chairs are a very personal choice, it's hard to recommend one. There are a ton of very good ones, but to be honest most of em are very pricey like the Steelcase Gesture. You can obviously also go the KAC-route and buy something cheap, like the IKEA Markus which is also not a bad chair. Another one would be the Maxnomic Classic Casual.

I realize they are personal, but none of those even hit the criteria I mentioned. Really just looking for ideas on chairs that I might have missed.

If you can return it and you think it checks all the boxes then try it out. If you absolutely hate it then back it goes...

I haven't tried the ErgoChair, but I did buy their cheaper model, the MyoChair.

The company does come off a little sketchy to me. I've heard that they like to offer a lot of rewards and kickbacks to reviewers, so a lot of reviews seem favourable. I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure their chairs are just re-badged chairs from China. So they don't always have stock and you can wait a month or more before your chair is shipped.

That said, my overall experience was pretty good. I bought on black friday and it took about 2 weeks before they shipped and it arrived relatively quickly after that. I'm generally happy with the chair, I find it comfortable and I don't feel like I got a cheap piece of **** or anything. So, I'm going to focus on the negative, but keep in mind I'm content with my purchase.

I got the headrest package, which also comes with the footrest. I want a headrest, but the footrest is kind of awkward and I'd probably never or rarely use it. But you it's either both or none.

The seat itself is firm. I'm coming from a LaZBoy that was super soft and padded. The MyoChair seat is hard, but at least you don't bottom out on it and I don't really find it uncomfortable.

The armrests aren't padded, but it's more of a soft plastic. It's decent. But I find them a bit too far forward. Not a big deal.

The headrest is a bit flimsy. It had an adjustable slider that snaps at different levels. I find it rattles a bit, which is kind of annoying.

The back rest is fine. It's mesh, but I find it at least as comfortable as my super-padded LaZBoy was. And it's much cooler on the back. And won't flake off because it isn't made of garbage synthetic leather.

It leans back and you can lock it in at 3 different distances of recline. But only the back leans back, the seat itself doesn't pitch up.

At first it was absolutely silent. But I'm starting to notice some creaks. Not nearly as bad as the LaZBoy was. The armrest just started creaking, but I tend to lean on them hard. The back is mostly okay if I lean back, but for some reason if I put only slight pressure on the back it creaks. It might just be a matter of re-tightening some stuff.

If you're interested in the ErgoChair, I'd take a good look at what features you're getting compared to the MyoChair and decide whether it's worth the fairly significant price jump.

Kept buying new chairs, typically cheap crap from staples under 200$, until I hit the pulselabz one that had a harder seat foam. Paid about 400$. Cold infused foam or something it did wonders for my sciatica. Its odd to get used to such a harder seat at first but man this time this one is a keeper.

I got the Batman Titan chair from secret labs. It’s great.

Gamers nexus did reviews on some gamer chairs and the likes. You could suss that out first.

They were supposed to do a follow up review for the secret labs chairs but not sure that happened.

Thanks for the info! I'll take a look at that one also.

EDIT: I'm really digging the leg rest option... The Kinn also looks interesting, though I don't see a neck or leg rest option.

Thanks, but I have absolutely zero interest in a racing chair as an office/computer chair. I don't know how that fad got started, but it's just crazy. I actually own a car with SFI Race Seats in it, and I know these PC versions are probably more comfortable than that...but I just can't figure out why in the world anyone would actually choose to sit in something like that in an office/PC gaming environment.

i'd be interested to know what you mean by "high back" because i don't see one in the mentioned ones. That being said, headrests are available for almost every office chair. The leg-rest is a nice option, i didn't know you were looking for something to take a nap in, sorry.

The best recommendation for chairs is: Don't cheap out at something you tend to use lots of hours on a daily base.

                          Best of luck!

They all look whack to me. I can't even understand how racing style chairs got to be the new thing. Just weird.

That said, the SecretLabs Omega and Titan do get excellent reviews. It's too bad they look so silly, not sure I can get use to that.
