the 570x prices were the same before launch and then only a few were very high and prices dropped in a few months
and what prices today on anything are not nuts
are intel new mobo prices any better ?
and you plan on not buying a new MB every time with intel
some of the AMD MB pricing is most likely that a lot of people keep those MB for the whole 3 year warranty and longer and just replace the cpu two or three timesLast edited by bill dennison; Sep 17, 2022, 08:45 AM.

That $2099 was a bundle with 32GB of DDR5 (when DDR5 was extremely expensive as well) and an AIO included; it was not the price of the board alone.
MSI is better than ASUS these days. You're missing outOriginally posted by curioEat this protein bar, for it is of my body. And drink this creatine shake, for it is my blood.

few are spending on nonessentials now or for the next year or so i think

They're charging $600 for the Z690 HERO now. You think they're gonna sell it for less on AMD? lol..
Looking at $800 easily. I'd expect $899 MSRP for the Crosshair HERO.Originally posted by curioEat this protein bar, for it is of my body. And drink this creatine shake, for it is my blood.

i'll wait and see before i get worked up about it
and if they do price that high then wait a bit they will come down fast when they get low sales in this inflation environment
i can wait them out unless this CPU and MB are 2x faster than my 5900x it won't matter that much at 4k anyway
they say gas prices will jump back soon and food will follow higher soon after

I can tell that you haven't been keeping track of motherboard pricing for a while.
I paid $495.00 plus tax for my Asus Maximus Formula XI in June 2019.
Z690 Asus Formulas just went on sale for $800.00 which is their MSRP. They were selling for $1000.00 a few weeks ago.
For those counting, that $800 price tag is just about a 62% increase in just over three years.
and if they do price that high then wait a bit they will come down fast when they get low sales in this inflation environment
How long are you planning on waiting?

Hell, my board is selling for $400.00 right now and it's a 9th generation intel board.

My E series strix board from asus was $350 for the 9900K I bought four years ago. The new E series from asus is priced at $710 according to the leak from asus HQ in china. The Maximus board I bought with built in EK water cooler was 600 and now asus's highest end board is $1300. Prices have doubled over the last four years unfortunatly. The cheapest asus board you can buy for the 7000 series will be $385. Very pricey and if you want a full feature set you are looking at $500 to $700. They cost the same price as the CPU now.
