I've been checking nowinstock once a day since the launch and I've not seen anything show as in stock on there. Since I missed the one shot at it on launch day it's going to require camping on the computer w/F5 and monitoring discord channels. Definitely been thinking about buying Karhu. Someone just told me about TM5 with the extreme preset so ran that. I can get 3600 15-15-15-28 with ease @ 1.45v but 3800 has forever eluded me with this set. I chalk it up to being a DR set and the fact that the EVGA Z390 DARK is well documented for not liking 16gb sticks.

I don't know if I'm going to bother with secondary and RTL though. That's where **** gets dangerous lol

The one secondary timing that you really should set is TRFC. By default it runs at like 500 or something, but b-die can usually do around 270, even at 3600+ MHz. I haven't actually had a kit that couldn't do 270 even at 3733 MHz. Of course, it could be different with dual rank kits (I've had all single rank), but probably trying something like 300 would be safe.

Setting TREFI and TREFIx9 to the max also seems to add a little performance. And you can also do TRRD_S=4 and TRRD_L=6 and TFAW=16 (TFAW has to be four times TRRD_S).

Outside of that I haven't seen a whole lot of performance improvement from adjusting the other settings (like a small fraction of 1% either way, to the point you have to run ten benchmark runs to even see if anything's changed).

It's looking to me like support is probably coming to select X370 boards. I'll just wait and see if it happens. If it does, I'll probably eventually pick up a 5900X.

In a way, it's actually a blessing that support isn't available on day one. That means no need to fight with everyone else trying to buy them. And it's not like what I have now isn't running fine for me.

That's why I'm saying not to bother with the others. Just too much time for a relatively small gain. It's why I haven't played many games the last couple of years, I've spent too many hours tweaking memory. In the end I can say it wasn't really worth it.
