    What to do.....

    So I have been wanting to build a back-up PC for some time now for my GF to play on. I have some extra money and kinda not sure which route I want to go.

    Part of me wants to just upgrade my 2500k/P67-GD65 for 2700k/Z77 combo.

    But the other part doesnt want to spend a lot and just buy something like an A6 and slap this spare 4850 in there. .

    My question is it justifyable to upgrade to a 2700k/z77 over a 2500k/P67?

    If you're going for z77 you might aswell get 3770k or something from the IB range for pcie 3.0.

      Not in my opinion, unless the z77 has some features you really want.

      You could possibly upgrade the mobo, for yourself and get a

      pentium g620 for her in your old motherboard with teh 4850.

            Lol. She will be playing TERA, and Sims. But that's beyound the point as my brother comes over often and he plays everythign so it needs to run everything. This post was more of an expressing the question to myself outloud. I'm not sure which I will do yet. Part of me wants to wait for Ivy, but it was just such a let down.

              I still wouldn't get the 2700k.. Its simply not worth it IMO, the 2600k is nice.

              I was going to put something else together, however knowing that Z77 is out, and IB is around the corner here in the next week or two. I'm going to hang out a bit watch what the markets do before I really decide if I am going to or not.
