After numerous delays with parts, I've finally got my first water cooled rig up and running.
I guess cable management can be better but I'll save that for later.Systems:

Seems that EK seriously underestimated the demand for their water blocks for the HD7970 and simply didn't make enough of them, so i'll go with koolance yet again wich are much easier to get, and swiftechs double pump masterpiece to help out the current pump mounted on the front bay...
Extreme Duty, 12 VDC, PWM controlled, DUAL Pump, including: (2) MCP35X pump motors, (1) MCP35X2-H dual pump housing, mounting screws, (1) G1/4 plug, (2) G1/4 to 1/2" barb fittings, (2) hose clamps, adhesive foam pads, PWM cable splitter, manual.
Going thru 4 GPU blocks and 2 radiators on a single pump is pushing it in terms of flow and overall restriction to overcome, so i'll add the above in series to speed it up the flow and act as a failsafe too.

Yes for single GPU users, but not so much for multiGPU users, as in order to look their best, they need specific adapters for each block and that big parallel part that goes over the 4 cards to complete the loop, so that makes up the difference anyhow....With koolance, all you need are the extensions between the cards and that's it, so it doesn't quite look as good i'll admit, but when paying 600$+ for either solution, there both not cheap anyhow.

Ordered more parts for the cooling, and the loop for the GPU will have no less than 3 pumps setup in series and PWM controled by a CPU fan header, and a front mounted reservoir with it's own built in pump in a 5 1/4 bay to keep tabs on the water level, with an Acrilic top between the 2 lower pumps along with some nice sliver extention fittings, angled adapters and compression fittings for the extra bling factor...There goes another 300$ with shipping...
Same company will get 4 koolance blocks reserved for me by next week too, at 130$ a pop...800$ to modify the loop for the new cards in total, but the system deserves it bigtime...3 pumps in series may sound like overkill but it serves as a failsafe should any one pump failLast edited by shadow001; Feb 7, 2012, 09:00 PM.

The biggest issue I've had with ek blocks is the issue in this thread.
Hi I have to appologize and point out maufacturing/construction fault with some (not all) of the 280 GTX water blocks. The problem accured because we tried to make lighter water block, so it became "too thin" and when mounting the block it becames more concave on the GPU contact. This causes very high temperatures of the GPU (90-100°C) even when checking of the GPU contact shows good contact. So if any of users have too high temperatures (90-100°C) please contact your reseller or
It was a pretty frustrating issue since it did look like the block made good contact with the gpu, even if that was not the case.

Here is the new build.
Here is me building the new build.
In this picture I just finished running all the wires, etc.
Here is a close up of my pretty motherboard
Here it is with the new cards in.. Starting to come together.
Another shot..
Got it all hooked up, getting ready for the first test run
Annnnd were off!
Pretty lights!

Oh, and I forgot to get some molex -> 3pin connectors. I am kinda dissapointed that this 800D didnt come with a build in fan controler. The 600T did -_-;The reason I talk to myself is because I’m the only one whose answers I accept.

Wow that case is IDENTICAL to my 600T I just replaced on the inside. That has to be the same chassis. The reason I talk to myself is because I’m the only one whose answers I accept.

My GTX260 is still eating up everything I throw at it considering I'm on a 1680x1050 display and most PC games these days are console ports. But you guys go ahead and keep spending $500+ on your video cards every year. You're helping to keep the industry alive.

And if that's too far off, I may at least get a 24" 1920x1080 on the cheap from the returns warehouse at work.

It is the most demanding game I have ever played tbh, both GPU and CPU.. Man that game can cripple CPU's when you're controlling whole armies with loads of squads, armour and choppers etc.CROSSHAIR X670E HERO / R9 7950X3D / RTX 4090 GAMING OC / TRIDENT Z5 NEO RGB 6000 CL30 / SAMSUNG 980pro 1TB / 2x SAMSUNG 980 1TB / H150i ELITE LCD / ATH-A2000Z / HX1200 / AW3821DW 38" / LG C2 OLED evo 55" / Enthoo 719 / K70 MKII + Zowie S2 / K57 + Harpoon / Xbox Series X Controller / REVERB G2 V2

Demanding.. I started playing Shogun 2 again after we discussed it in that thread, Demo..
I forgot how ****ing hot it gets my GPUs... my bottom card will hit 90c on the campaign map. Highest reported was 90c on the top card and 96c on the bottom. 80% fan speed..
