Well don't keep us in suspense! What was the problem?
Combo of needing the latest BIOS, and using an extra 6 pin power cable for an auxiliary connector that supplies power for the video cards...Up to 2 cards there's no need for it, for 3 or 4 card combo's and even with the cards at stock clocks, it's needed bigtime.
Lucky for me, my power supply has outputs for 4 card configurations, so i still had a spare PCI-e cable left over in the PSU kit...
Feel free to laugh at my cable management and ghetto looking system but I swear there just isnt enough room to run all those cables in the hidden cavity and/or make them reach. Do not like this case at all and next build will put some more thought into case and cable management, however at least this one is functional and fairly cool which is the main thing, aesthetics come 2nd for me.
The Antec 1200 is a real bastard for cable management. What are you using for fans? Are they on a controller?

Its so sad, the youth/gimps of today. SO SO ****in sad.
Do i give a **** about cable management?
This is sadness really has grown this decade with PC users. Total gimpish.

Cable. I dont give a **** about what it looks like inside.

Yes but thats only because I'm a nasty man. Seriously though temps are decent.
I have 3 120mm Noctuas mounted on the inside (mobo side) of the HDD bays which do a good job, like so-

What's your vcore at? My 930 could hit 3.9 stable with 1.21ish Vcore. However, going over 4ghz required a huge vcore increase.
I use 1.418v for 4.41 (21x210) temps reach mid 80's in prime with HT enabled, in gaming it would be lucky to hit mid 60's at most in a very CPU heavy game, which is too high for some and thats completely understandable, but its perfectly fine for me...
Here is a pic of my m8's Tri 6970 system for all you AMD fanbois, and yes its much neater than mine :P
In case anyone is interested we had a little bench session, battle of the Tri systems, me oc'd to 4.41 and 930/2100, him 4.2 (i950) and 980/2900 (?)
I've just switched to 6950 (shader unlocked) trifire this past week. I haven't really looked into ocing them past 900 yet. Waiting on water for that, as temps are quite high for the top card. I am surprised your friend runs that oc on air. I was considering getting another 580 at the time to add to the 2 I had but i ended up selling the 580s for 880 bucks. With rebates and some newegg gift codes I got the 3 6950s for 720 or so. More power ad got some cash for it. Can't complain. Plus I don't think my 1k psu would of handled tri 580s.
I feel a bit bad for your friend =P. My 3dmark11 P score is pretty similar and I am sure it cost him more =P lol

I dont think he runs those clocks 24/7 on his 6970's, and the 6950 was only $40 cheaper here, so he thought screw it might aswell pay a little extra knowing the cards are rated to run a 6970 clocks etc.
BTW we did a value vs performance test, ie 2 x 580 vs 3 x 6970 cause they are similar in price.
So 3 x 6970 is actually closer to 2 x 580 albeit a little faster, however you also have the features, IQ enhancments and 3D to take into consideration. We went different routes, he has gone eyefinity, I have gone 3D.

Ah ic. Here it's like 70-80 bucks. X3 80 dollar difference here is a 4th 6950
Its the worst case I have ever used and no the fans arnt on a controller, I have some using the low RPM switch and others going flat out (Noctuas)
Oh, I had some low speed yate loons and with the Molex connectors on every fan there was just no room behind the mobo tray. There is also just no good spot to run cables inside of the case. One other thing that bothers me is having to pull both side panels off and removing all of the screws on the drive bays just to clean the air filters. Other than that it does work well and I think that it is a decent looking case.
On a single 6950 I did see an almost 10c drop in gpu temp when I moved from an Antec 1200 to an FT-02. I really love that case.

Ha no kidding there's so many fans on the case plus the extra ones I have added they pretty much take up all the room with thier molex connectors behind the mobo tray, I seriously cannot fit another thing in there and its a bitch just to get the side back on. I really want a new case.. Also despite its large look its very crampt in there, the Thermaltake Armor+ for example is sooo much roomier. I also removed the air filters and cut the metal mesh out from the rear fans to increase air flow, the difference is dramatic to say the least, it's like a tornado in there..

You basically need the same case i'm using right now, and there's nothing bigger than this apart from a custom designed mountain mods or little dragon case, and with all the foam insulation that comes with it on the side panels and front panel,it's as quiet at a mouse, but it isn't a cheap case(nearly 500$ for the all black edition, 50$ cheaper for the other 2 versions,
same looks and size though)
Lian Li V2120x...
Anyhow,i got to the point of setting up a fair chunk of software already, and all the windows updates are done, so here's the base temperatures i'm getting running LinX(aka intel burn test) on all 24 threads at 100% loads..
Hottest CPU core barely hits 60*C on processor 1(lowest is in the high 30's on processor 0), and the thermal junction where they normally start to throttle down to protect themselves is 96*C....I got a lot of wiggle room here...
Now rocking at 3.6 Ghz for each processor with hyperthreading and turbo mode enabled at 1.3 volts V-core....1 Ghz overclock for each CPU in a dual socket motherboard, with twice as many Bios settings as a single socket motherboard and all memory slots full for both CPU's...
Not sure if i can push much higher as one of the CPU's is already running in the low 80's, so the cooling is working much harder now, but i'm happy with what i got so far...
Very nice m8, looking foward to some benches That is a serious monster.
As for the case, I have seen a nice looking case with a glass side panel and the mobo sits sideways so the gfx cards exhaust out the top. I dont know if its a server case but I saw a guy with a watercooled system and pair of 6990's at the PC shop (I happen to live near the best shop in Melbourne) and man did it look sweet plus it had heaps of room.

Runs nice and stable at 180Mhz QPI speeds, wich is actually pretty impressive since this is a dual socket motherboard afterall, and all memory slots full, wich normally doesn't help when it comes to overclocks...
It actually doubled my previous best with a 980x running at 4.56 Ghz in LinX using the same problem size and memory amount, and i can't figure out why that is, since there's still nearly a 1 Ghz difference between both setups....It's not just simply going from a system that handles 12 threads to one that handles 24 at the same clock speeds, wich one expects scores to double in those cases....There's more to it than that here.
In any case, from now on i'll increase the QPI and voltages by very small batches and see if i can hit the magic 200Mhz QPI mark....At wich point the system will by running at 4 Ghz even..
You wouldn't, by chance, happen to have a P3 Kill-A-Watt or similar device would you? You could use it to measure the hunger of this beast and then post a pic of the results for us.
He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever.
He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.
And... he's wonderful.

I'd have to find a way to load up all 3 GPU's and all CPU cores simultaniously, however the one of the persons who helped with the design of this very board, pete "shamino" tan(he works at Asus now), made this thread on the EVGA forums last year, as the board was getting ready for it's retail release, but i'l post the important stuff only...
FAQ of W555
You can run different models of Dual QPI Xeon together – such as 5520 + 5540, even Quad Core + Hexa Core together – but must be from same family – ie, NO for Westmere + Nehalem – Performance scaling is fine
You can run turbo mode on one CPU and non Turbo Mode on the other too
You can run a single CPU (Must be Dual QPI) in any one of the 2 sockets
You can run Non ECC normal DRAMs but also ECC Rams too
Dual QPI Xeon DRAM Multipliers/Uncore Multipliers are locked so you will only be able to use maximum 2:8 or 2:10 depending on segment of CPU
You can run 200 – 205MHz Baseclocks on air – 230+ needs LN2
Motherboard is 381mm width by 345mm length
Motherboard supports 4-way SLI on current GTX285/upcoming Flagship VGA
Motherboard supports 4-way Quad Fire
Motherboard will ship with typical 1366 Xeon socket back-plates but normal X58 socket back-plates will be bundled in package
2.8GHz x 2 @ 1.20v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 535w from AC socket
2.8GHz x 2 @ 1.20v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 991w from AC socket
4.0GHz x 2 @ 1.30v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 766w from AC socket
.
4.0GHz x 2 @ 1.30v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 1,243w from AC socket
4.2GHz x 2 @ 1.40v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 913w from AC socket
4.2GHz x 2 @ 1.40v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 1,390w from AC socket
Gives a pretty good idea of the power requirements once fully overclocked and packed with 4 video cards...

Sound like a silverstone tj-11, their flagship case.
Anyways, here's my sandy vagina build in my new mid-tower case, a silverstone rv02-e.
It's not as roomy as 700d, but it does not weigh as much either.

If I didn't move things around so often the cables around the desk would be a little neater. It's actually not as bad in person, I'm no photographer.
I wish I could have gotten a hold of a ft-02 for the price I paid for my rv02, the exterior of the ft-02 is so much better looking than the plastic fantastic exterior of the raven.
It's a Filco "tenkeyless". I really like the minimalist design. I never really use the keypad and it's nice to be able to move the mouse over a bit. This keyboard is also really comfortable to type on.
