I'm just on a single GTX460 myself, but I do want to SLi it once my fricken motherboard get's in. I'm still on a craptastic AM2 3800(I think) and can't do anything without it MAXING CPU load. Import & Convert RAW NEF to DNG into Lightroom? 100% CPU. Understandable. Watch HD video, 100%. Play ANY modern game, unplayable because CPU is at 100%. The video card gets the same frames in modern games at 1920x1080 as it does at 640x480 because the CPU is currently a HUGE bottle-neck. An i7 is just what I need right now

I'm sure everyone would tell me my QX9650 Extreme is slow these days, but it's still doing an amazing job yet. I'll probably hang on to it a bit longer before I can the whole system and do a massive upgrade. I'd like to snag those dual GTX480's for sale in our Classified section, but I've never purchased used video cards before and am a bit nervous.

Don't feel bad. We've been buying ammo.

My computer is sorely lacking these days.

thanks, I really took my time with that wire job, there is absolutely no obstruction of airflow from the 3 120mm intake fans.

Do you get good temps with your Corsair H70? Are you doing a pull/pull or push/pull for air and how loud is it? I was thinking about getting it, but I use Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and it's works pretty well, but my 120mm fan I have sounds like a jet engine.

I have the H50 not H70, and I have replaced the fan with (2) NF-S12B FLX fans, 60 cfm each doing push pull. They're the quietest fans around, so the fans barely make any noise themselves, there is however some noise from the air being squeezed thru the radiator, probably as much as any other full tower cooler with a 120mm fan. I didn't even try Corsair fan it came with. As for temperatures, it does a good job, idles @ about 35* and peaks at about 75* on full load P95, regular game playing it stays between 45-60* depending on what game I'm playing. That's pretty good for a 6-core CPU overclocked to 4.0 ghz. CPU is runing @ 1.25v.

No lie my H70 is a horrible cooler. I've been fighting with it since upgrading to the i7 950... Load temps at 1.35v at 4GHz and I reach about 80c after 15 minutes of linx/prime... Block is making good contact, I've redone with AS5 but it just runs extremely hot. My old i7 920 ran at 70c at 1.4v.... Could be the Rampage III but I doubt it... I know there's a temp reading problem but the issue is the temps freezing and not adjusting correctly...

Not too happy with it, might re-do it without the sticky pads as on the Corsair forum its been recommended not to use the sticky pads on the H50/70 due to flexing and poor contact.

Pump is running? From the reviews, and my experience w/ my H50 - makes me think you have a defective unit.

Pump is running fine, set to turbo in the bios reads at 1600RPM, tried knocking on it just to be sure.

Take a gander at the COrsair forums you will find alot of people having the same problem with the H70. You would think though a i7 920 running at 4GHz at 1.4v 21x200 would run hotter then an i7 950 running at 4Ghz 1.35v at 23x174

Bad batch then? I'd contact Corsair for support - nothing but love for my H50, and, on paper, the H70 should offer a significant improvement over it.

Take the plunge and build your own water cooling setup. You're running a monster processor with a single 120mm fan radiator; I wouldn't be expecting a lot more.

As often as he upgrades it could be a huge PITA for him if he did have custom water. Unless he used those giant quick connect barbs from Koolance.

It's worth the trouble to me though.

Wow, what's the aspect ratio on those monitors? 16:9? They look a bit too narrow for 16:10; I'm not sure though.

I know UltraMon can do it. I think something from Stardock offers similar functionality.

I never could get Ultramon to work for me. If my cursor would stray onto the second monitor it would crash my pc.

Eyefinity at the desktop gives you a single large surface, and a taskbar that spans all three. I also have HydraGrid enabled, with a grid for each visible panel; snap to grid is very cool.
