Those are pretty standard size bezels. As far as more useful... thats a lot of real estate. Mega tasking is simple - lots of documents and stuff open at once. Can watch decent quality/size Hulu and work on things at the same time. Windowed games can be done at the same time as other things, like running VM's, or writing (need lots of reference docs and browsers open, for example).

    Gaming is

I don't want to spoil all the goodies for the upcoming article, though.

Cavey needs to get rid of the bezels and reroute the panel buttons, so it looks like one giant ass screen.

The bezels just cover metal frames that give the LCDs their structure.

Yeah. I'd have to remove the panels themselves and remount them with the electronics etc. Something I'm not willing to do.

Nice setup Cavey; I'm seriously thinking about the 3 monitor setup myself. Lots of money burning a hole in my pocket . Speaking of...any concrete street-date(s) slated for that monster 4gb 5970 ?

The stands don't work that way. There are two stands, a 2x2 and a 2x1. As far as angling, that's a personal pref.

I am gonna have to ask the question- does he mean 2GBx2 or 4GBx2 if its 2GBx2, its already been announced... if its 4GBx2 idk if the PCB would allow that unless its made bigger?

Well, after ~7 years since my last big upgrade (my desktop had an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 754 processor) I was finally able to get a new rig together, here are the pics from building it last night (being up until 3am never felt better).

                                      All the beautiful parts:

                                      Shot of the motherboard:

                                      The HAF ready to rock:

Motherboard, RAM and video card testing:

                                      Everything in the case:

                                      Officially powered up:

A sense of just how bright the HAF HDD and power LEDs are :

I'll post a desk shot once I get things organized and put back together (you can see the mess in the background of the last shot.

I haven't gotten to do much gaming yet but otherwise it feels so much quicker than my old setup.

The new rig has been dubbed Mustakrakish (props if you know where the name is from).

There is no right or wrong, one way might provide a little better cooling because of the orientation of the die and how much surface area of the heatpipes sits directly over the die, that and heat rises making for a more direct flow of air. Whether any of this makes enough of a difference to you to delve into minutia for a degree or two is up to you and how much time and interest you have, if you didn't already lapp your heatsink and processor i doubt it though.

I was half kidding regard 'wrong' way, but I've found mounting with the heatpipes horizontal wrt the ground gives better cooling (maybe 2c lower load temps), especially in a High AirFlow case.

Additionally it helps cool the GPU and chipset. In your case, you case has nice airflow from front and side intakes, so you can use rear exhaust accross the hsf fins, and use the top exhaust to remove the rest acting a pull on the back of the hsf.

YMMV, if you don't feel like moving it then don't worry about it

Additionally it helps cool the GPU and chipset. In your case, you case has nice airflow from front and side intakes, so you can use rear exhaust accross the hsf fins, and use the top exhaust to remove the rest acting a pull on the back of the hsf.

YMMV, if you don't feel like moving it then don't worry about it
Ahhh, I had no idea. I actually didn't give mounting it horizontally any thought because I figured doing so would interfere with the memory slots. I think I'll leave it as is for the moment because I don't have the time to play around with overclocking (seems to be cooling more than adequately for stock).

Nice rig; your case is the same as I chose when building my new rig. I have added a second 5870 since . One newb mistake I did make is placing my bluray burner in the top slot. It would pull one of my usb's out upon eject

It kept tangling and little-by-little pulling it to the point where one day it simply dropped out. It was to the damn keyboard, and because I didn't notice it thought my kb had tanked. Still have not moved the burner, but I'm a little more observant now when I use it .

The HKs are nice and do perform well, but I liked the look of the Danger Den blocks better for this particular build, and they've been very supportive of this project.
