Carpet? I wish we had never gotten carpet while building our house. Wood or faux wood is such a better option and better for resale.

Already bought so not this time.... He's not going to use the computer like that. Probably will not upgrade this build for 5 or more years.... maybe a vid card after that but that should be it. Lots of internet usage and bfv and cod and other games like upcoming batman game. Games like that.

Only running 1080p 60hz but he's very apprehensive with this stuff so monitor in time for him.

It makes me sad to see someone drop $130 on a water cooler when they could have gotten much more bang for the buck spending that money on a better CPU and a descent air cooler.

Also, there is the bit where I keep hearing my friends complain about their 2-3 year old water cooler failing.

My original h50 from 2009 still works lol.

My H100 from 2012 also works perfectly and has been transferred several times between builds.

These closed loop watercooling solutions are great in my opinion.

I have also heard from a number of friends about their all in one failing, so no thanks. Especially when you can get a Noctua NH-D15 for about $90, it has equivalent or better cooling than most AIO coolers, will last for practically forever, and the only moving component is easily replaceable. Alternatively, there are a plethora of good enough for stock air coolers in the $30 range.

They are rgb… Unfortunately the motherboard only has one fan header on it.. micro itx. So the splitter I got from amazon for 4 fans that are in there unfortunately don't work with the cooler master front fans plug. The adapter I got only has a 2 pin config and this has a 3. So no rgb but the switch on the fan has either red or blue. He needs to get a hub if he wants to control the color and he didn't care.


Also the fans are making horrible humming noise in the front of the case like it's rattling the frame they make the sound not attached but even more so when. So I dunno. We might switch them out or try to find some rubber washers to dampen the sound.

and for a shed that get warm even with r30 in the walls and r40 celling it will max out at 94f on 115f days no cooling
till I open it up and turn on the cooling in the summer a air good cooler will cool off faster than a aio or full water

My H60 is acting up, so it's back to Noctua for me. Air = no fuss and fewer concerns for me. I got the H60 for pennies on the $ and wanted to give it a shot. Nice for what it is.

In the summer Im sure that rooms cooks. I got a loft with 2 PCs and if the air isnt running while we are gaming its hot as hell. Even with the house fan(whole house circulation) going it still gets hot.

Well spotted, you're correct it's gun metal for the case but thinking the person might be referring to the cooler as I think it's only recently been made available in black? I'm not too bothered about looks but I think it was worth paying a bit more for the black one as I think it looks much better than their usual colours which don't really fit with the normal colours inside a computer case.

1: The new Corsair Battlefield Ryzen 7 System w/ Liquid cooling & Radeon VII

Late 2019 UPDATE!!


Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to Bob & all. Some small changes to my system as Galvbertratron remains UNCHANGED , but the Corsair system is now a Ryzen 5 3600x and an Aorus x570 MINI w/ Crucial Ballistix memory. Both of my systems now have mini form factor motherboards as I like going by the principle Keep it simple stupid. The previous motherboard, memory and Ryzen 7 cpu have been given to my parents.

I have no plans to chance anything else anytime soon as my systems are both spectacular IMO, however, any future build will like be a retro revival of my old Thermaltake Kandalf with the snazzy front that someone said looked like a Soviet vacuum cleaner. That will be a ways off . System changes below.
