Finished off my project. Got some minor adjustments to do in terms of cabling and flipping around one the fans and cleaning up the sound card and RGB settings.

Very nice.

That PCIe cable makes my OCD twitch, though. I'd get that going a little more perpendicular if it were me.

Yes that PCIe cable was one of the cables I wanted to adjust. I spent some time doing so before the photos but it was being a bitch the fan closest to the H150 at the top I need to turn as I found the “Pong” RGB mode, the bit that represents the bat hitting the “ball” lights up on the glass side, should be on the cooler side. Meh...

The onboard red LEDs are now off , need to slap in the second RGB strip to add some effects around the bottom and left hand side.

Still think yours is cleaner, deadite, your board is better suited for this sort of thing and the presentation with the parts are much better.

2.) Its a 1080 and it says Gigabyte on it....

3.) Its a Hero board not an Apex.

Ah, I thought you meant you had to flip one of the fans around to change it from exhaust to intake.

Thanks... I prefer the gunmetal, though, so you definitely got me beat there, and the LED fans are also working in your favor. Mine has a nice glow from the LEDs on the board (can't stand all the disco lights/unicorn puke myself), but I really need to get some strips attached to those RGB headers so I can get a little solid light around the interior to help show it off.

Can't get a good clear picture of it lit up though (modest as it is), since the camera on my phone is so grainy in low light that the photos all look like garbage. And using the flash kinda ruins the effect:

Couple changes.

EK mono with upgrade -> to garbage can. Replaced with metal version of the XSPC. 14mm petg -> 16mm acrylic. Acrylic just looks so much cleaner and better. Will be replacing the other pc tubing with acrylic as well some time soon. I have the SC spectre case coming in at some point. X299 build will take place in there. Will be white and gold true douchebag colors.

With the new build I then decided to sort out my sanctuary.

Had the tower moved within view, threw the router and external HDD on the desk and rearranged speakers and headset setup and a shift of the desk. Couldn't be happier. Well... needs a new GPU

Nice one. In my experience it's best to cap fps just below the max refresh rate for latency and smoothness with gysnc. At 165 I would suggest something like 160. For games like BF that use 60hz servers I found 125hz is the sweet spot. I suppose due to the 60hz tick rate (near multiple). This is most noticeable when tracking targets or just seeing other players move around. I honestly feel 125 cap + gsync is the sweet spot, and performance is a good 10-20% easier to maintain than 140 (144hz) or 160 (165hz). I would honestly suggest capping fps to 125 with gsync and trying it.

All you need to do is add a .cfg file to your BF main folder (text file renamed to .cfg), and add the line 'GameTime.MaxVariableFps 125' into it. That way, every time you start the game it will have a 125 fps cap.

Sweet. My monitor oc's to 165 and tbh I've tried every range, but for BF I find 120 is the sweet spot (I just go 125 from the quake engine/cod days).

It's a v3000 and yes most are behind the tray. Nvmes are inside. Ended up swapping to asus even though I didn't really care for it but I wanted a seperate VRM block. Not that the bitspower mono wasn't doing well. Was for other IHS reasons

I have added a new RGB component to my disco. Pretty happy with it. I have one more item to add to it, possibly 2 and I'll call it a day.


Also got into iCUE from Corsair which is now the go to application for my bling. It's pretty sweet actually. I didn't know it handles addressable RGB on my fans..so now I can set multiple colours within the fans.... Corsair link will be canned.
