had to drill the new fan bracket for the drive mount


Looking at the Strix I noticed most of the heat coming off the top of the card


just taking the plate off and opening those 4 holes dropped MB temp 4 to 5 c

now after 15 minuets of kombustor fussy donut MB temp only goes from 30c up to 31c

and the Strix tops out at 60c with 40% fan

....
I will need to do the other side now to match when I rebuild the 3930k side later

Well because I cancelled the study room and made it into a full bedroom, I think that compact desk is doing the job pretty well. Quite comfortable and fits about everything I wanted to put there. I may move the printer to another room since it is wireless anyways but other than that, quite happy with the setup.

As for bathroom tiles stuff, I think once I set up the whole house, things will look better. Just moved in so still tons of work left to do to organize my shite.

Got tired of the evolv top choking the crap out of my rads. Joe over at ModMyMods did this for me. Very reasonable pricing and I highly suggest you guys to hit him up if you got an evolv Joe was very accommodating in offering to cut this panel by request, and was in constant contact about the panel. I sent him just a basic idea of what I wanted and he got it done. I choose to use a decimex filter (which amazon sent to me with some wrinkles which I will have to iron out or eventually replace it with modders mesh).

Very clean cuts. That's actually one of the reasons I'm staying away from the Evolve. I think I'm going to go with a good old 750D AIR edition. Plenty of room and good air flow.

I think I did decent on cable management. Probably can pull out 2 of the red cables since I don't have a second card.

Also cleaned out my case and pulled hard on the red cables to keep the card from sagging. It doesn't sag, just that the slot is tilted.

Can that front 280mm fit lower than that in the case? I picked one of those same res brackets, but haven't picked up the res/pump yet.

I was planning on having the inlet be on the top of the res I'm looking at, but if it's going to sit that high in the case, I may have to rethink that.

It's a 240. The 280 would sit lower by a little bit but not at the very bottom.

Not really feeling the carbon fiber race thing going on. The F1 Mclaren logo is ugly as hell(not your fault, just replicating) but the build is top notch though.
