My new Kaby Lake 7700k build is complete. Everything went smoothly. I'm running a slight overclock at 4.7ghz. The GTX 1080 Hybrid is running +100 on the Core and +300 on the Memory. Boosts to 2,114mhz.

The 3M "carbon fiber" wrap, I did just on the back panel. Nothing too crazy. I just wanted something real subtle.

My case is super old. Maybe the way I put that mounting bracket on the base unit when I snapped it on. I actually don't think it matters to be honest, and so what, no ones going to see it. If I had a window then maybe.

I did the best I could with what I got with the cable management and the limited budget I've had over the years. Next build will be muuuuch nicer.

It's 140mm. If you look at the loop order you can see it sits between the GPU and the CPU. In theory it should reduce temps slightly for the CPU, albeit perhaps only slightly. In reality I added it because the case supports it and I would rather overbuild than underbuild. I've also had a Titan X(P) in here at one point.

Yea I saw the loop order. Was just curious. I use to overload my case with as many rads as I could fit. Now I on the path of reducing case size and radiators.

I have 4 rads in my 900D 5820k/1070 build
360 up front (single thick)
360 up top (double thick)
120 out back (single thick)
240 at the bottom (double thick)

It's more surface area than some car radiators. Overkill is just my style.

The Define S build takes hardly any time, maybe half an hour. The 900D takes a few hours.

I got 2 480s and a 240 cooling 2 cards and a cpu. Looking to downsize soon, my fans dont even spin. However, I feel I could get the same temps with similar silence in a much smaller package. I went back to sli again and now seeing it's not doing **** for the most part. I might even go MATX in a smaller case with a 360/240 or 280/240 and do single card. Most likely do a new build for it though. Keep my current setup without the gpus for esxi, put that huge ass tower to a proper use.

My 900D is a media server. I've got 9x4TB hard drives in it right now and have it filled up about 70% to hold my entire media collection. Eventually I'll remove the 240mm rad in the bottom compartment and add 6 more HDs in 2 more drive caddies that Corsair sells as add-ons.

I don't doubt that one can get similar performance with lesser radiator space, I just built a single rad system for a friend (360mm push/pull) and it cools his 1070 almost as well as my 900D overkill loop cools my 1070, maybe 5 degree difference with my fans on high and his on low.

Well when Seyiji delivers it by the barrel, you gotta do something with the extra. Personally I mix it in with my pancake batter, makes them extra fluffy

Yes, they're the Dominator Platinum SE Blackout. For sure they're pricey, but they're also one of the lowest latency (Cas14) 3200mhz memory you can get. I think G.Skill Trident Z was the only other one, and those kits were ~$250-260.

I've always had a soft spot for Corsair Dominator though. It just looks so bad ass

God damn Ghastly, that is a beautiful build. Really like the routing you took with the AIO coolers wrapping around each other, and that memory .. I've been thinking of taking the default fan off my TITAN X cooler and doing a push-pull with some Corsair AF120's I have laying around.

Might try that today and give the case a good clean up, maybe even a photo or two. My PC is slowly becoming a grandma - old as hell.

It's fine the bracket is just crooked, the thermal pad underneath is a circle anyhow so that doesn't matter lol.
