Decided to retire the 2600k after 5 years of service, and build my new main, carrying over a few bits.

    Mastercase Pro 5
    Gigabyte z170 GT motherboard
    Intel 6700k CPU
    Corsair H100 240mm cpu cooler
    16GB G.Skill TridentZ
Samsung 950 pro nvme m2 SSD
    Gigabyte Waterforce GTX980 Ti
EVGA Supernova 850 G2 PSU (Leadex)

The performance increase was more than I expected, I am only running at 4.8Ghz, but I use a handbrake profile and test material as my benchmark, and I got a boost from 17fps with the [email protected] to a very surprising 30fps on the 6700k. I know I won't get as much or any improvment with games, but I can deal. Dat 950pro rocks my nuts off though

      Nice upgrade. Congrats!

Sorry, forgot I even posted that. Lol. Thanks, the case for I think it was $40-50? Really impressed me. That 2500k, and MSI board I've had since damn near launch of them (March 2011). Still runs as strong as the day I had it, even OCed. Such a solid combo.

Finished with the panel on.. for now. Unfortunately the window is just basic plexi, so its hazy and reflective. I may get a nice piece of tempered and coated glass cut and I will replace it. The tinted bottom compartment is a nice touch.

What is that cable plugged in right next to the RAM? Looks like two thicker cables attached to one connector.

Yes, USB3 connector, as the power panel on the case has 2 USB3 inputs on it.

Agree, this monitor is massive. Going to see what can be done to fix this. Also need to re-do some connections etc.

Updated with a new H110i with two Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans and front/rear Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans. I also tried to redo the cable management and it was a little tight, but not very bad at all. I guess.

Did a small mod, as I needed a place to store all the little usb crap that gets lost on the desk.

Took one of those cheapo drive bay drawers, trimmed the front a little, and took the grill off one of the cover plates and stuck it on the front of the drawer. Pretty much a sweet stealth drawer, though the build quality of the drawer is complete crap.

Ugh leak tested no probs for like 12 hrs then magically 2hrs later shits going. The pain of first time hardline. Prior to leak test, rebent the cpu to res and now leak testing again without anything else inside.

                                Under construction

That looks nice, but after messing around with hardline, I decided to pass. If you don't get the bends at the exact angle needed, it puts stress on the fitting, and that to me isn't something I want to trust in the long run.

I will move it, was up late last night and some of may fans don't reach the headers so I bought a 4x4pwn to molex connector to take care of that. will finish rewiring Friday when it comes in.

The drawer is spring loaded, i.e., you push the front and the drawer opens.

Below is my spare parts computer. The system features a DYNATRON cooler that looks like a water cooler but is based on air. It is very loud upon install but when you configure the bios it is super smooth and quiet. The processor is the QX6700 bought for $20 dollars on Ebay. The memory is 8gb of top-of-the-line MUNCHKIN The graphics card is a leftover ZOTAC gtx760 FACTORY OVERCLOCKED. All of the hardware is stored in a timeless Thermaltake Hal computer case which was used to hold my primary hardware until I found something even more spectacular ..which I will reveal soon.

On a side note: I was unaware that one of my memory sticks wasn't fully clamped until I posted the system pic. The problem has since been corrected. Looking forward to posting my primary computer once the power supply arrives and the build is complete.

Plus I just don't trust it, because it's damn near impossible to get those angles right, so you're not putting stress on the fittings.
