I've just seen a pic and yeah, it's definitely inverted... there is a grill and a filter right under.

wangFu, change that around, fresh air will be pulled directly into the psu

Just don't forget to clean the filter every so often. That filter is the one most easily forgotten.

Yeah USD, all the guts+case and the monitor, the mouse and keyboard i already had, oh and the SSD was mine from the previous machine as well

I feel sorry for the cards and how hot they'll be running, given that they release an extra 100 watts of heat than the GTX980's do and that's at stock clocks....Imagine overclocking.

Nah....He's got 1000 watts of heat coming out between those cards, and they're packed like sardines, so you do the math...


He was already borderline with the 4 GTX980's at roughly 600 watts of heat at stock, and thinks the additional 400 watts are going to magically go away and not be an issue...

You're now using cards that pretty much use the same amount of power as mine do, and I couldn't run them on air for more than a couple of minutes before the temperatures entered the 90*C zone, and you think you will?


Tell you what....I'll keep playing for hours, overclock my cards at will and never see them hit 50*C, while you just keep worrying about not melting yours after a few minutes, never mind overclocking them.


Get some water on those things ASAP....

The quad titan setup will slow down 1 or 2 of the cards in terms of max oc possible. Water would be beneficial, but since its 4 way it's hardly necessary.

My Titans were fine in 4-Way and so will be my new Titan X cards. It's not the doom and gloom you would like to make it out to be. The stock cooler is very good.

Doesn't want the hassle? There are people who have kingpin cards on air in quad sli who don't even oc them. People will use their cards as they please. They are blower coolers, not case dumpers. I had tri sli with refs and it wasn't bad at all. Noisy yes but temps not bad. The nv titan coolers are way different than the shitty ref coolers of other cards.

At the same time these titan x cards are kinda loud and more hot than the 980s that is for sure. I only have 1 atm, ordered the asus one today from newegg so will be in the lowly 2 way sli haha.

I'm with you on this one. I couldn't imagine using more than two cards on air and even then I'm conservative with overclocks just due to noise.

I had a single titan and at 1200mhz, that thing wasn't quiet and it throttled

Mine never bothered me when I had it. Was no where near as bad as the 290s.

I see the value in it. I would do it but like I said the man can do whatever he likes. Could he get more out of the cards sure. I am not sure how 4 cards blowing away doesn't bother him but more power to him. Cost is obviously not a factor.

CPU @ 4.0GHz, memory @ 2666, and the cards @ +50 core / +100 memory. Not really into pushing the limits on overclocking. The system is overkill as it is.
