Portrait doesn't bother me, FPS/RTS/whatever. I don't sit right up on them. Distance is the key to triple display enjoyment for me. I don't watch movies on it. I also have a 24" ASUSIPSTN LED 120Hz screen available.Last edited by caveman-jim; Mar 26, 2013, 05:00 AM.

I think like any resolution, the smaller the display the better/sharper the image would be.CROSSHAIR X670E HERO / R9 7950X3D / RTX 4090 GAMING OC / TRIDENT Z5 NEO RGB 6000 CL30 / SAMSUNG 980pro 1TB / 2x SAMSUNG 980 1TB / H150i ELITE LCD / ATH-A2000Z / HX1200 / AW3821DW 38" / LG C2 OLED evo 55" / Enthoo 719 / K70 MKII + Zowie S2 / K57 + Harpoon / Xbox Series X Controller / REVERB G2 V2

But isn't the purpose of 4k to have a sharper image on a larger screen?
With 1080p HDTV's, the bigger the size the pixels start to become noticeable at further distances. 4k fixes this problem.
Large 4k screens will look sharper, but I'm not sure you'll see much of a difference from 1080p with a smaller 4k screen.

27" at 1440p looks better than 27" at 1080p. I guess 2160p at 27" will look better than 1440p too.
Personally I'm with baba, I think 32" at 2160p would be nice, but I would be happy with anything upto 40" or so I guess for a PC monitor.
Curious as to what size a 2160p display would be with the same pixel pitch as a 27" 1440p display. I guess a mid way point would not only increase fidelity, but also give you a larger size, so would be the best.Last edited by demo; Mar 29, 2013, 06:39 PM.CROSSHAIR X670E HERO / R9 7950X3D / RTX 4090 GAMING OC / TRIDENT Z5 NEO RGB 6000 CL30 / SAMSUNG 980pro 1TB / 2x SAMSUNG 980 1TB / H150i ELITE LCD / ATH-A2000Z / HX1200 / AW3821DW 38" / LG C2 OLED evo 55" / Enthoo 719 / K70 MKII + Zowie S2 / K57 + Harpoon / Xbox Series X Controller / REVERB G2 V2

I would think it's pretty pointless on any size less than 65".
If you're 15 feet back then you'll want 60" +, but if you're 5' you'll be happy with 32" IME.

If you take that height against a 2160/1440 ratio that gives you a new height of approximately 19.86".
Using the Pythagorean theorem again with a 16/9 ratio, you end up with diagonal size of about 40.5" inches.
Someone check my math....

Having seen ~32"/37"/42" 4K displays this week it's definitely noticeable for desktop gaming use.

Doubling the diagonal increases the resolution by 4 times. Which makes sense. I think that's what you probably meant.
Edit: I just realized I spelled resolution wrong in my spread sheet.Last edited by Ristogod; Mar 31, 2013, 09:47 PM.
