This psu was fine with two GTX480s. I'm not worried about my current system. I doubt that it'll ever draw much over 600w.

If it stays around that value then it should be fine, just keep it in mind once you overclock and overvolt the cards, as they're obviously going to be the parts using the largest portion of the available power, and you are aiming for a stable 200~250 mhz overclock on each card using water cooling and using like that day in and day out.

Were the GTX480's water cooled too?

No I had those cooled with Antec 620s. Still, I would have to crank the core voltage to get power consumption anywhere near 800w with OCCT.

Just now with the 7950s I shot the core voltage up to 1.2v an 1200mhz and ran Heaven. My ups was reporting around 650w. Thats at the wall with my monitor plugged in. So once I oc my power efficient cpu I doubt that it'll ever be much more than that. Realisticlly I doubt that it'll ever draw much more than 600w from the psu. I would put a third card on this psu if I could. A good power supply is made to run at its rated wattage.

Don't get me wrong, they can handle their rated full load, and my silverstone was server rated at 50*C ambient temperatures to dish out 1500 watts continuous, and it did exactly that for the roughly 2 years i used it.

But like anything else, the harder something is pushed to it's limits, the shorter it's lifespan might be under such stress....Anyhow, once you overclock the cards and the CPU to their final clocks, i'm sure you'll check the power use and see how close you get.

I'll know better next week. It looks like I need to replace one of these blocks. I can't get a good mount. The screws don't go in all of the way like they do with the block on the top card. On the first mount I saw some obscene temps. On the second mount it was around 10c higher than the top card but the vrm temps stayed exactly the same.

I'm just going to rma the block, who knows what else might be wrong with it. It would be nice if they included the four screws for around the gpu block.

All that I'm going to say is that drain line has been a life saver.

Are they connected in series or parallel?, and is the water flowing to the top card first?....The 10*C difference is odd with the GPU temps when the VRM temps are the same for both cards.

Could be a problem with the threading around the GPU area of the block not tighting enough and allowing full contact i suppose, but i don't remember having any missing screws when i installed mine, but i'm running completely reference design based cards.

You're supposed to use the screws that come with the card.

Like I said there is an issue with the block. The screws don't thread in all the way like they do with the other block and now that I think of it that was also the block with a couple of good scratches across the top. So, I'm going to return it. I also ordered a couple of reference backplates from swiftech.

                    Nothing new

                      Correct.

Wait till we get to Slawters multiple rigs. It will take weeks and many pages to get through all that hardware.

yanked a bunch of stuff loose over last few weeks for new fans/SSD/670...and now in need of a few wire ties and some re-routing...

Around 45c at 1200mhz and 1.2v. I also have a couple of reference amd brackets on the way that may shave off a degree or two. These blocks don't work all to well with spring loaded screws. It would be nice if koolance provided all of the hardware that you need to mount the block.

I haven't really checked to cpu temps but it is an ivy bridge processor so, it probably still runs hot.

The spring loaded bracket is actually the superior method for mounting the block. It ensures the die has proper pressure on it.

Yeah, it would be nice if they had included one like Swiftech does with the Komodo.

Most non-reference cards use the spring loaded screws....

I find it surprising that Koolance doesn't include any screws at the very least for around the gpu. Its the first aftermarket cooler that I've ever bought that didn't include all of the mounting hardware. Thats sort of crappy.
