You can see the shimmering in this video, foliage seems to be affected by it in the performance mode.
I've seen that video. It's a great one everyone should watch. They do a really nice job showing off all the great graphical upgrades. It is one of the few games where favor resolution actually does produce better images at times. But it's up to everyone what they prefer. This video is a good source of info to help with that. Thanks!

      I had no idea.

Honestly I don't care much about the graphical upgrades in Horizon Dawn, as the first game's graphics were fine. I just hope they fix the cheesy dialog.

Yeah, I had heard alot of chatter about it launching along with PSVR2, so I guess that's not happening?

It looks great. But the cheesy dialog seems to be beyond their capacity to solve. One character in particular is mute worthy every time he speaks. A lot was said about the facial expressions and dialogs do look really good as characters can now speak their cheesy lines with conviction. It’s semi-ground breaking technology. It’s something that will get better over time. But unfortunately it is so realistic you start to realize that the motion actors aren’t that good. It does raise the bar as you need Hollywood capable facial actors now too. It’s a huge jump from when video games got lip syncing to match finally. But it is in it’s early implementation and will push developers to try harder.

Yes I preoredered actually, enjoy the pleasant type of driving from time to time.

First contact has been bad though, on start they push music rally on you, with music that I was unable to stand even to finish a single lap.

Then it's just gt sport 4k, sure there are improvements, but they don't build up into some great new whole for me. Actually gt sport, with its fixed time of day looked good whatever the conditions, wouldn't say that here tbh. ACC on PC, in addition to being better at everything that counts, also looks better, and on sale is 10x cheaper or sth heh.

Physics servicable, a bit more lively so far but that's it.

Campaign AI are still toddlers, just a matter of time not skill.

Only first impressions from a single track though (Lago Maggiore).

Haven't even got the thing downloaded yet, no idea why it stopped downloading in rest mode. Played the 3 tracks while you wait for the dam thing to download and find the motion controls for driving satisfying. Seems decent enough.

Enjoying Horizon 2: Forbidden dope. Level 30 and chugging along. Amazing game.

After that might indulge in GT7.

Not sure if anyone else is playing this game but I am having a ball with it. Tons to do. Upgrading is not easy. Tons of weaponry and options. Possible to do a build and keep upgrading where upgrading is also not straight forward. Enjoying the living shiznit out of it. Optionality in combat is amazing.

I give it a 9.5/10 thus far. 0.5 removed from still some pending traversal issues.

I am. It’s a great game. I haven’t had much gaming time to dedicate to it so I am only around level 20. It’s perfect for me right now because I only have a couple of hours a week gaming time lately. I just jump in and do whatever I feel like. There is always something new to discover. It doesn’t really seem like a grind because content seems fresh and interesting in every adventure I discover. They only gripe I would add is I would also dock 0.5 off for some cheesy dialog too. I watched this cool video that compared real world locations with the content in the game. Pretty amazing:

Game is really a ton of fun. Got the third sub routine and another whole area to explore. Just so much to do in this game. Will probably go around finishing the tons of side missions that are left. Hit level 35 but still don’t feel OP like the old game. Optionality on weapons is also dope. I want to get legendary weapons also but don’t want to use a walkthrough.

Will keep playing this for a while for sure.

Nice, you are much further than I am. For me this is the perfect casual game for my current busy schedule. I am currently inching towards the first subroutine. I am really taking my time and playing around with every aspect. I can jump in and just walk around to different areas and see what hidden stuff I find, play a main or a few side quests, solve a ruin puzzle, experiment with a new weapon, or just randomly take out machines I meet for the first time. None of it has gotten boring or tedious yet. I’ve already met three different tribes that were all very unique. Side quests feel a lot like different storylines. Haven’t seen a game do that this well since Witcher 3. They added so many nice little touches as well. You can randomly find the ruins of an downed aircraft, poke around and find some valuable resources inside and also an audio log chronicling the final moments of the doomed flight. Really cool stuff. I have a long way to go. But this is already turning into one of those game where you want to open up the whole map and leave no “?” unexplored.

Spent most of the weekend pumping through Forbidden Dope. Did quite a few quests and also progressed on the main. Was trying to get some black boxes, contracts and sides done before progressing on the main. One thing I am a bit pissed about are the weapons and upgrades. It is so difficult to find the right materials for upgrades unless you go farming which is something I really didn’t want to do. So I am carrying on as is.

Overall still enjoying it quite a bit. Some of the relics were also quite the brain teasers. Hoping to get some legendary outfits and weaponry.

Using jobs makes this much easier. You can add a job on the upgrade screen. It will make a job quest to point you right to where to get the parts. There is a vendor that sells legendary. You need the tokens you get from Arena and Hunting Grounds to buy them. If you haven’t found the vendor yet you may have to look at some spoilers. The vendor is fairly early on. I’d save upgrading until you grab one of them..

Can anyone please tell me why the **** my PS5 controller will turn on console on, but then when it tells me to press the PS button it's like the controller loses its sync with the system and I have to reboot the console almost every god damn time? I've looked around on Reddit and a lot of others have this issue, none of their solutions work for me.

I hear you. I still am not that good at taking machines down fast. The variety of weapon choices is too huge. Normally, I like to settle in on weapon of choice. But the game forces you to switch around too much. Otherwise it takes too long to take machines out. The good side is that it is making me play around more with different weapons. And some were worth learning. But each one can have 3 ammo types and multiple secondary weapon fire options. I haven’t found one yet that just delivers all the time. You found any that you think are “go to” options? I tend just to stick with hunter bows because ammo is easy to craft. It just takes forever to bring down a big enemy 80 damage at a time. Been working on increasing crit chance. But that still doesn’t create massive damage

I am using spike thrower, the crossbow that operates like a rifle, and hunting bow plus specific damage bows (for acid and fire). I usually have all effects in the arsenal so I can switch easily. Only one pissing me off is tear ammo which is very costly and I never have enough. I am level 43 now and still pushing through. Legendary gear is so hard to come by unless you dick around with collectathons which ****ing sucks ass. So I am just upgrading purple gear now and have 40 jobs so that I know when to use tear for that component.

Haven't been a big fan of spike throwing. Seems cumbersome to line up and throw. I do have the Rampart Blastsling. It's like a rapid-fire explosive spike throw. You can buy it at the Arena for hunter medals. So you do need to execute some hunting grounds to get it. I think I got enough medals really fast at the first hunting grounds.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is probably a good comparison. They have skipped a lot of the annoying gameplay in that game though. The game also has a much more interesting world and better crafted side quests. I can't judge the main story yet as I am not that far into it. But, I like it so far. The presentation and graphics are pretty amazing. The environments are varied and highly detailed. Map-wise it seems a little smaller than AC. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing. If open-world question mark exploring, engaging story, immersive environment, and varied combat is your thing, this game delivers. Possibly over delivers as the completist in me is starting to fatigue some. If you want options on things to do. There is no shortage!

I would say it is more like Witcher 3 than Ass Creed unless you count the scaling mountains/buildings but. But questing feels solid with full back stories like it was in Witcher 3.

Awesome! I was a little under-leveled for the main story quests so decided to do a bunch of side quests. Now I am stuck in the loop of too many side quests. But I am enjoying most all of them. Plus, many give you some pretty good weapons and armor. Now I have the opposite problem as I am now over-leveled for the main story quests. I am definitely getting much better at the combat too. You need to invest some time into the different mechanics they provide you. There are so many options that it takes a while to understand the right one for the current situation. But once you do, some harder fights become very trivial. With my limited gaming time, I'll probably finish in a month or longer...

I would say totally do the relics and get the legendary disc launcher. It is very helpful in last few levels. One of the best things I did for end game.

Won’t spoil anything for you. And yes there is tons of optionality and I love the combat in this game.

The first game I was all about all the different weapon types and setting traps and trip wires and such. I’m currently level 26 I think and so far I’ve pretty much just used hunter and sharpshooter bows. I don’t even bother with the elements.

That's how I started too. But it takes forever to take down some high level enemies. Element states are very useful. Explosions caused by fire can cause massive damage. Your bow can cause major damage when an enemy is brittle. Knock off one their weapons and us it against them totally owns large enemies. Elemental traps and explosive traps can also own enemies. It's almost a cheat that you can mark their patrol routes. If you pick an elemental trap they are weak to you can save a lot of traps as one using the right element can sometimes fully do the job.

That's where elements help you. Those guys are weak to cold so it's easy to make them brittle. Once they are brittle, they take tons of damage from your arrows. I can take them down in minutes. 2 frost grenades freezes them, pummel them with arrows while brittle. Repeat a couple of times and they are down. If you are playing hard or very hard it would take longer.

                                                                    Comment

Only one I missed was fire and purge water. However, for those idiots the spike thrower with explosion was enough. That and tear ammo would do quite the damage.

Was playing in the basement in 65" LED we bought 5 years ago but the tv was on 24/7 as my wife doesn't work so not sure how many hours it has on it and I noticed the display isn't so great anymore so got a 55" LG C1 OLED and wow what a difference. Didn't think it would make such a big difference but cyberpunk looks amazing on it. Screen is obviously smaller but moved the PS5 to the spare bedroom so the room is smaller so think it's a good size for the room. Also picked up a pulse headset so it's improved my games experience
