i somehow can't adjust to the x-box-controllers. I really like (or even love) the playstation ones, but the x-box always feels "wrong" dunno why, and i know i'm the minority with this one, but hey, it is what it is

I prefer PS controllers as well.

The 360 had a terrible D-pad. The newer Xbox controllers are better, but I still prefer PS.

I like both, but I prefer the xbox controller as you can put rechargable aaa-batteries in it, thus making the battery life much, much better than any sony alternative.

That's a good quality of the Xbox controller. But doesn't apply to me since I only play on PC and stay wired all the time. Reason being, bluetooth connectivity on PC is always flaky for me for some reason. If I move the controller 6 inches to the left I lose the connection.

I’ve tried to get used to the Xbox controller and just can’t. It was all I used for about 4 months. I just don’t like it. DS all the way for me.

I haven't tried the PS5 controller yet but I've had good experience with PS4 controllers. My original blue one I got years ago only just started having an analog stick issue. Its not drift though. When running straight ahead in a game like Nioh and holding the stick steady forward it will occasionally jerk the character backwards.

I've tried all the suggested tricks like holding it down for 30 seconds then rotating it a bunch of times, and blowing it out with air but I think its just messed up. I've abused it pretty good too though. Many hundreds of hours in stressful games.

I've had no issues with 2 PS4 controllers. Pretty well used and a few years old. Still been used heavily by my son.

Yeah I've had ps4 controllers die, crap quality, but they absolute top tier shite is Nintendo. Joycons, the got the con part right that's for sure

I'm the opposite and have never been able to get use to the PS controller. It's not very ergonomic and is always uncomfortable. Xbox conforms perfectly to the hand. I've used all of the PS controllers quite a bit except for the PS5, and that one appears more XBox-like.

The only issue I have with controller is the triggers are a bit large and can easily be pressed accidentally. Crossing your legs can accidentally hit them. This can cause the NPCs in Demon Souls to get upset and aggro me when you accidentally whack them while talking. (Very bad)

That will ruin your playthrough for sure.

Been a long time at this point, but can't you go somewhere to pay Souls for a pardon or something to get the smith back on your good side? Or am I thinking of that weird fella in the bell tower in Dark Souls? Not sure if Demon's Souls had an equivalent.

They changed it in the remake!

You can go to the Statue of Reflection in the Nexus and be absolved at the cost of some souls.

Luckily I didn’t whack Ed. Sage Freke took a solid hit and was very understanding. I forget the name of the guy (blue ghost) you first meet in the nexus but he took one too. I couldn’t get him to chill so he had to die. Hope that doesn’t mess my game too much.

I did pick the right NPC to goof up on. Got his soul the old fashioned way. I panicked when I bonked Sage Freke since I am a magic build. But he was just like, “stop, don’t do that” and didn’t aggro at all. Whew!

I hit Freke before too lol. I don’t know where you’re at in the game, so no names, but I hit one npc while playing the original, quite a few hours in and it just ruined my playthrough. I hit Andre in Dark Souls too. That really sucked

I tend to relax the controller during conversations and that's when it triggers accidently. Didn't ever happen on PS4. I am learning to be a lot more careful now after those scares...

I have 2 worlds left to complete (1 and 5). Been taking my time. Halfway through both of them. Will probably finish in a few weeks. I like it. Bosses aren't nearly as hard as most souls games. The whole world tendency thing is original but somewhat gimicky. I never played the original. It must be nice to see all the original worlds realized on PS5. They do look pretty great overall.

Yeah the game is absolutely a must play if you’ve never been through it before, for a Souls fan anyway. My earlier negative comment was just based on a little disappointment that some bugginess seemed to have been reproduced as well, but it’s definitely a classic.

The PS5 version also introduces Fractured Mode, which you might be interested in looking up. I never tried it, but probably ought to.

Not gonna lie, managed to snag one from a Sony Direct and was super excited, but holy **** has it been a frustrating buggy mess.

Tried to play Astros out of the box and had to restore it to factory settings cause it would just show up as "installed" and greyed out. Not allowing me to play or even delete it to reinstall it. Nope. Had to reset my console to factory.

Ratchet and Clank went off without a hitch.

Just got Returnal. After waiting for it to copy and update got hit with a can't play this application. Resulting in me now waiting for it to recopy and download the update. So 2 out of 3 games have been frustrating out of the box experiences.

How is the system software still this **** after a year?

It pains me as it really is a great experience when you actually get to play something, but when simple things such as "installing a game" are this bad... Ugh, thought after the Astro crap things would go a lot smoother. Hopefully Demon Souls goes better.

Also lol, that I still have to rebuy Control after buying all of it on release at full price. Even better when they had it on psplus the version I redeemed was the PS4 and didn't include the PS5 ultimate edition as well. Just been a week of lols.

Should probably hook up my PS4 and do a transfer of Nioh 2 so I'm not redownloding the whole thing. Apparently need the PS4 version installed to be able to get the free PS5 upgrade.

Hmmm? My setup was 100% seamless. Maybe you button mashed too much because you were too excited. Enjoy. May all your load times be near instant!

Yeah my start was a cluster**** too, after that terrible start was ok. My XSX gets far more usuage than my PS5 does, but I do turn it on now and again to play the exclusives that I have yet to finish.

Demon Souls I'll probably sell on Ebay as it's just not my cup of tea. Returnal is good though.

My 7 year old keeps playing spider man. He already finished it twice and is now about to finish the remastered for the third time.

Yeah my now 5 has finished it about 4 times now since he was 4. I can't even finish it once now I've seen him play it that often .

He's gone through the DLC a few times too, but is now slowly playing Miles, but for some reason he doesn't like it as much as the original.

Demon Soul’s is deep and interesting. But like most From Software titles, you need to be a pro to really enjoy it. I think they build all their games so the community has a bunch of tough puzzles to solve. Some of the tricks in the game are almost 99.9% impossible to figure out without a guide. I like FightingCowboy’s guides to the game. Try playing again using his guide. You’ll get a lot more out of it.
