I accidently hit the back button and it kicked me out of the countdown!


I was in the countdown for the queue with like 2 hours and 45 minutes left and accidently hit the back button on my mouse. It then removed me from the countdown and when the queue was to start it didn't place me in it. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

it apparently got bumped back an hour. About 10 minutes before, the countdown started again. Not very hopeful this time. Last time it said more than an hour but quickly dropped and I was able to at least get it in my cart in like 10 minutes but then it made me enter my address repeatedly and ran out before I could check out. This time, I am still at 30 minutes 20 minutes after the queue actually started.

Got in right after I posted that update above and it was already sold out of both. The first time, they still had digital consoles left for a while even after I ran out of time on the disc. I might just forget about it unless I get the an invite.

It's random where you end up in the queue. It doesn't matter how long you are in the lobby waiting. I got a crappy roll and never even got a chance to buy before they sold out. It's not a bad setup if you actually get lucky because you do have to solve a pretty complex Captcha before you get in queue. I do wonder how many people they actually had in the queue. It'd be a little pointless if 400,000 people were trying to get 5,000 PS5s.... WalMart had a restock too today and that was even MORE frustrating. Went something like this:

Refresh 80 times for 10 mins starting at the exact minute the sale began, The "Add to Cart" button finally appears, Yay! Get's in my cart but now can’t checkout, retry checkout for another 80 times for another 10 mins, screen FINALLY moves to confirm shipping address, Yay! It even says I'll get mine on July 8th (which seemed kind of like a long time but i did not care!!!) Confirm shipping address and hit submit, “This item is no longer available and is removed from your cart”. Start over and starting screen now says no longer in stock. GAAAAA! What a tease. There is just no way to manually beat the bots. It's hopeless. Better luck buying a lottery ticket and winning the $1000 required to buy from a scalper. Something I can easily afford to do. But I have some sort of moral code that says not to give scalpers one penny. Over time, my morality is starting to slip.

I was able to order a bundle from Gamestop today but I realized that the shipping would have it delivered while i was out of town. I then was able to order another bundle and so I tried canceling the first and it wont let me.

Now I have 2 on the way. lol WTH

Look at the bright sides...you can make a family member or friend very happy, and/or you won't have any problems selling it to get your money back.

It looks like I cant cancel because the gift card is a digital code. Hopefully they don't cancel both because it's supposed to be one per customer and is tied to my pro account.

Finished Ratchet and Clank. What an amazing game and a real graphical showcase. I give it a solid 9/10.

Insomniac are really killing it. Miles Morales was also very good and Ratchet is a lot of fun. Hope that a Infamous title is also on the way.

The way they use the lighting and graphics in Ratchet is just phenomenal and the gameplay is tight. I have a few trophies to finish so am trying to understand what they are and how I get through for a platinum.

On the games front, even though I play relatively few:

Demons Souls remake - wait for a sale. Beautiful, but next to nothing new and the AI is as bad as the original.

Ghost of Tsushima - PS4 title, but as amazing as it gets. Gorgeous and a blast to play.

TLoU2 - not for everyone, but another gorgeous title.

Returnal - true next gen title, roguelike and hyper difficult. Best 3rd person gunplay I've ever enjoyed though, and possibly more satisfying than any other game I've played when you take a boss down, or even clear some levels. Truly addictive and (for me) well worth the price tag.

I might check out Ratchet and Clank. It's not anything I would normally buy these days, but it might bring back some really good memories of playing the first one with my daughter years (and years lol) ago, that and Spyro

After a bunch of failed attempts and lots of button smashing I caught it on Bing.
It added to my cart and I was getting that same 250m error but I just kept clicking checkout and kept switching the store.
It finally took it to the next step and wanted my email.
Then they sent me an authorization code for the checkout.

It’s annoying that retailers seem to be doing absolutely nothing to make this a better customer experience. No bot thwarting software, no special checkout, no nothing. You just get thrown into a lottery with a bunch of bots and fight them through every single step of the checkout process. PS5 is only available for store pickup? WTF? Is this 2005 or something? Grrrrrr. I guess as long as they get their money they can care less….

Heh, I get that but it really sounds like Insomniac went way out of their way to give their players the best possible experience with what they have to work with. I dunno why the PS5 doesn't do VRR but neither does my new AppleTV 4k yet both supposedly have HDMI 2.1 ports. Seems like HDMI 2.1 is a choose your own feature set standard.

I don't know how I feel about having to pay for the Director's Cut. I get that there's an "expansion" included, but those of us on PS5 who bought the game on PS5 .. I kind of feel like I'm getting boned.
