    IMPORTANT MESSAGE: read before posting

So here's the deal. I am sick of it. I constantly see the same people posting in every thread about how superior PC's and PC Games are vs. the Console for one reason or the other, essentially doing nothing more than derailing the thread and thread-crapping. So this stops. As of now, whenever I see such actions, I will start handing out infractions - when these add up, it's ban time. Simple and effective.

Hopefully this will get the message through to some of you, since you chose to disregard all my previous posts on the subject.

Rage3D is NOT the place to be discussing Hacking consoles...

This is not the place to be discussing on how to hack various consoles and what types of software there are that are able to play possible copyrighted materials on such.

Even though some discussions may be tame they tend to have some members give out information that could be troublesome.

The internet is your friend, Rage is not the place for such things. Inappropriate discussions will be closed/edited and offending members notified/warned.

    Keep it clean...well, Rage clean

    thanks

    AzureDrake Edit:
I've put emphasis on the "how" part of this because apparently some people think this means there can be no discussion of consoles being hacked at all. Discussion of piracy and hacking is not permitted when it's discussing how to do such things, giving links to places which give instructions or provide software enabling piracy or hacking, or supplying people with links to the pirated content itself.
Merely discussing that a particular console or game has been hacked/pirated, is not against the rules.

            Just out of curiosity.

What are the repercussions against Rage for talking about "hacking" your Wii, xBox, PS3....and so on?

Not sure exactly...I mean there's a chance people could talk about whatever and nobody would notice but by the same token, we could potentially get in trouble from certain companies for allowing discussions to go and, providing links, etc.

It's just the safer approach and we get to look like we have some shred of decency in not allowing those discussions here.

              Thanks for the feedback!

Potential hassles in terms of time, effort, after receiving cease and desist letters or legal actions, or requests for disclosure on member information (email addresses, IP addresses).

Despite our forum regulations and posted rules, companies would still protect their IP through legal means against the host as they can't target the individual without getting information from the site.
