Ooooo let us know when you take it off road how odd it feels to go up a steep incline with no roaring engine noise or how well the induction stove works for cooking stuff and how much battery it drains for a good meal of 4! Also is the automatic bed cover as flimsy as reported?

I would actually recommend the GV70 to anyone looking for a smaller crossover. It deserves all of the praise it is getting.

I know. Saw reviews and in depth videos. Just not my thing as I don't like the styling and entertainment center.

i'm having a hard time understanding why you even buy cars, just lease 'em ...would be way easier. But hey, if you somehow enjoy it.....

You're changing your rides faster than anyone i know.

Believe it or not, leasing would be more expensive.

This is due to the fact that I have built a significant amount of positive equity into each purchase. A fair amount of the equity is not from my own cash, but instead from the weird nature of the pandemic car market and an ability (at least for that time) to essentially get the same or more for your vehicles than what you originally paid. Having rolled this positive equity into each purchase is the reason my GV70 (despite a $57.7k sticker) was paid completely off. The GV70 did lose a little value as the market is now softening, but much of that I consider only a paper loss due to the explanation above. Due to this, the R1T has made itself entirely affordable to me. I saw the opportunity and jumped on it.

A leased car would have just been money completely thrown away.

Note: With changes in the economy I do not predict that I will able to continue on this path. The car market is becoming too soft and the scenario is closer to pre-pandemic behavior. Anything you buy now in 99% of cases will be sure to lose value/depreciate as one would expect. Lower demand, increased supply, and higher interest rates have put a stop to me ever being able to repeat this.

(although for my Rivian orders are backlogged into 2024 and I already paid under MSRP - it is used with 640 some odd miles. I suspect that perhaps it may not depreciate quite as fast as some other cars yet. My guess is that the prior owner (who only just took delivery in December) had a reservation pre-price increase so paid the original $7x,000 price then flipped to the dealer for massive profit. The dealer then had it for sale for in the $9x,000 range. I caught it after they dropped the price to $84.5k, which is less than the $87k on Rivian's website for the base configured quad motor/large pack Adventure Package)

Makes sense to flip cars. However, I never had enough cash laying around and getting a loan for car is such a bitch in UAE w/ 20% downpayment and all that.

Rivian is home. I am now testing the Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter I bought so I can use my existing Tesla Wall Connector to charge.

                    So far so good.

still not a friend of the car, the front especially, but in the end it's just looks. If it does what it's supposed to do then well, whatever. Hope you're having fun with your new toy.

No, but usually when people ask for pics they don't want to see a vehicle covered in road grime.

My automatic tonneau cover is installed but is software locked by Rivian in the open position. They are redesigning the cover as the current ones have a design flaw that causes them to bind up. When the new design is available they will replace at no cost. That is expected to occur the first half of this year.

It feels roughly the same and is also comparable to what my Model 3 Performance was, although I felt more push back in the Rivian compared to the C8. On paper the C8 is a little faster.

With the update came some new range calculations/estimates. Conserve mode essentially makes the truck an FWD vehicle.
