    Samsung cheats with new QD-OLED

Have seen a bunch of early reviews of the S95B claiming it is a total game-changer... BRIGHTER! MORE ACCURATE! MORE REALISTIC! However, even in filmmaker mode, Samsung is artificially boosting color and brightness to give the image more pop. This has fooled a lot of people into thinking they were seeing unprecedented image accuracy, when the S95B is in reality stuck in "vivid mode". Samsung even cheated by making the TV respond accurately to known calibration tests. Glad to see that HDTVTest caught this.

QD-OLED is capable of higher color luminance, but this is not the way to demonstrate it, at least for anyone who cares about image accuracy.
My world is a world of concepts and principles, not a battlefield - "war" is simply the wrong metaphor for where I'm coming from.

is the filmmaker mode on their qleds more accurate? i don't think people buy Samsung tvs for their broadcast industry standards. i personally like a more accurate image, and that's why I prefer Sony tvs. but if Samsung's over brightened, saturated image looks good to someone, then what's the issue?
the only thing shady about this tv is that it's detecting test patterns, artificially making it look good on review sites...just like their phones.
is that true for their Qled tvs , too? i'm going to guess it is.
