    Well I imagine the extra bandwidth for extra colour and audio helps with those.

    Also if the movie is recorded in 24fps or 60 or whatever, it means the panel can sync to the output of the video better, if you have a player that supports such things.

    HDMI 2.1 brings the following benefits, mostly stolen from DisplayPort...

    4K120 or 240, 8K60 on a single cable at HDR colour.
    It also brings Freesync support, so if you have an Xbox 1X and a TV/display with a compatible HDMI port, you can enjoy frame synchronization.

    Also probably why NV dropped the requirement for their G-sync hardware bs and started supporting the VESA standard.

    I've read some articles on the advantages/benefits of HDMI 2.1 but I still wanted to ask. For gaming and movie watching, what benefits does HDMI 2.1 bring?
