My Sony STR-DE875 has 3 optical inputs and 1 coaxial input.
One of the optial inputs is the same as the coax input, call it DVD.
The other inputs are TV/SAT IN and MD/TAPE in.
Now the manual says the following:
"The DVD IN OPTICAL and COAXIAL jacks are compatible with 96kHz, 48kHz, 44.1kHz and 32kHz sampling frequencies. The other OPTICAL jacks are compatible with 48kHz, 44.1kHz and 32kHz sampling frequencies."
Does the dolby digital/DTS signal always run at 96kHz? Because if im thinking correctly, my amp only has one input which allows me to have 5.1 sound right? Are there any tweakeable settings to change this? All i can do atm to hook up both my xbox and dvd recorder on 5.1 is put them both on DVD and switch between optial and coax inputs.
