so i found the first digital camera we had (well, first one that wasn't the dumpster fire known as the jamcam) and was hoping to manage a decent shot but holy **** is it hard to try to get something half decent out of a 1.6mp camera from 1998 (kodak dc260)
i'll keep trying but i expect to just give up and play doom on it
was wanting to get out and do some shooting today but it was just too damn hot so i decided to shoot from inside the vehicle while running errands... i guess you could call it a drive by shooting
Purgatory Chasm is a unique natural landmark offering exciting adventure. Follow trails to rock formations such as The Corn Crib, The Coffin and Lovers’ Leap. After exploration, settle down for an afternoon picnic.
Purgatory Chasm, Sutton MA - great hike, too many rude MA people. But...
Up
down
I thought the "faces" were cool.
rock ...doggy head, to the left of the tree.
Mama natures backside
edit: Almost forgot the obligatory 'shrooms. I don't know why, I just think they make for good photos. This one is dark due to the heavy shade we were in. I tried to not ruin that during editing.
and around my area you have such places as.. eagle slough, howell wetlands, wesselman woods, interlake, bluegrass, sugar ridge... indiana, even our park names are boring

Hopefully the people are more pleasant. “Good morning, how are you?” Earned my wife and I about 1 snobby or dirty look every 15 minutes
I miss shooting but I start to look at the cost of exotic glass
and think about how little time I have to actually go out to shoot.
It's just not worth it. And yes I need to shoot premium glass lol.

Haha, as mundane as it is, it is still good to practice. Lotta depth, from trash can to the post/drain/building framing, and finally the dramatic cloud lighting in the background. Just sorta drawn into the picture despite the ordinaryness of it.
Is it an HDR photo? Seems exposed for the sky well but also have some foreground still within range. Might have turned the shadows all the way up to get the trash can and awning in a bit more.
Ive been super busy at work so I havent had any time to jump into photography the last week or so.
I'm not posting until I can get something other than nature. We love the outdoors, but photo-wise it's getting repetitive. Even old guys need variety
yeah i really should do more stuff other than nature... i just find it easier to avoid people looking at you funny... trees looking at you funny on the other hand...

i did expose for the sky and push the shadows pretty hard in the edit... only so much i can do though with the raws from a D1X
The train picture would be more pleasing if you had rotated a bit so the tracks are straight. Just another thing to do look at when youre taking/editing pictures. For pictures with straight lines I try and turn on the camera grid and straighten things up so I dont have to do it in post.
