I've been reading up on raw the past few days, and it's on my 'have to do' list now. I'm just shopping for an editor now. LR is obviously the go-to, but I don't want to pay for a subscription. Luminar looks like a candidate. Easy to use so I can basically start right away and the cost will pay for itself fairly quickly.
I'll post back after I work with it for a bit. Hopefully with some interesting shots lol.

Its a shame adobe doesnt offer a standalone anymore, they want that continuous money. I have the subscription but I have had it for years for other reasons.

I had it as a student; they had a one-time year long subscription for $20/mo. for the whole suite. If you wanted to cancel, you'd get charged 50% of what remained as a penalty.
After the semester was over, I can't put into words what I felt when charged $20 during a month when I didn't even log in to their suite manager. "Getting raped" is probably an insensitive metaphor, but it was enough for me to swear off their subscription model for a lifetime.
I use Paint Shop Pro and Vegas Movie Studio for photo/video editing. Notepad++ for web design.

I should also mention Irfanview. I use that for 90% of anything I want to do with an image (cropping, resizing, contrast adjustment, etc.). I recently discovered it will allow you to paste an image on top/bottom/left/right of the current one. Everything you can do with it is super easy.
"Pretty" text overlay, anything that requires layering or transparency, that's where I use PSP.

I would go for the sub if I thought I could get the use out of it, but for what I need it doesn’t make sense. Too many free/cheap alternatives.
@Crawdaddy. - thanks for the Irfanview mention. I used that some time back and completely forgot about it

Snowbirds just buzzed Vancouver with a CF-18 in tow. Moving low and fast, but I managed 3 ok-ish shots with my Panasonic FZ70 since it was on my desk

I saw the pig scratching itself on a phone pole, thought I was losing my mind. I live in a small citygrabbed the camera just in time.
I did have the raws from that batch that has the wedding stuff. I'll have to find them, good learning opportunity
edit: Looking back at the baskets I see what you mean, thanks for the tip

Nice shots!
I took a ton of raws today, then realized I missed a setting in the menu, so they were really jpegs. And the area is 2 hours away.
I suck at this. But I'm going to keep trying.
EDIT: Found some old raws…good for meNo more chatter until I have some photos to post.
