Ordered a 77mm hoya pro-1d cp for my 70-200 2.8L IS and a 82mm hoya hd cp for my 16-35 2.8L.
All set for mosport.
Look forward to some nice ALMS stuff!
Can't wait to see how well the 5D3 AF works in serious action over the 5D2
Probably gonna carry both of them, wide lens on the mk2 and telephoto on the mk3
Somewhat unrelated:
I wonder if they're ever going to incorporate eye tracking into AF point selection?Last edited by _TiTaNiuM; Jul 16, 2012, 07:40 AM.[tR3d]lmpreza

Wow. Just wow. 8-10% of that battery life was probably wasted to spending a half hour cleaning my sensor and a half hour of just photo viewing.
100% of the shots had autofocus on, and 80% of them had a lens with image stabilization going. High speed burst most of the time as well an AF was on AI Servo.
Amazinginginginging.
Two days at the track and the flights the camera was in use all the time and I didnt have to charge, I could have probably gone a third day even.
Gonna review and process **** tonight.[tR3d]lmpreza

Thanks though. I have a lot of scrap at 1/125 but the ones that are good... have fantastic blur and it really gives a good sense of speed.
It was tough to get the whole car sharp though, almost moving too fast.
that said it's probably my best one, that's actually uncropped, handheld, framing is just like... perfect. I got home and found this one and was like "whoa... did I do that?" lol[tR3d]lmpreza

5d3 eh? Bastard!
I actually had money set aside for this... but the money is still in the bank. I don't do much sports stuff so the improved AF/FPS would be a nice to have. So would most of the other improvements. Improved ISO performance would be great but.... a bit too expensive to upgrade for that primarily.
Probably my next camera is going to be the EOS M, if it holds up. I want a great little camera I can bring everywhere.

The autofocus and higher fps were definitely appreciated. I probably wouldn't have gotten as many keepers without the AF. it does a great job of keeping the right subject in focus and i ony noticed it misfocus 1/20 times. At most. Meant my shots were bad due to tracking and not the AF system but last year I was definitely shooting at much higher shutter speeds so there's always that. Overall I thnk I did pretty good and I'll share some more when I get home tonight.
Pretty awesome how much you can do still with only 200mm and full frame. First day I used my teleconverter but I think my better stuff was without it. 5d3 fixes almost all of the chromatic aberration you get with it too unlike the 5d2 shots from last year where it was fairly obvious.[tR3d]lmpreza

someone got to be a volunteer!
interesting with the LED lights on the lola in the back...
LED lamps flicker instead of burn like a normal bulb in an automobile which runs 12v DC
Deep within enemy territory
So guady but I can't get over how cool the livery is on this GT3 Cup car
