Need to get away from the city more, Light pollution looks like it (assuming you want a clear sky where you can see the milky way)

ive had crappy tripods for years, a few months ago invested in a decent one..

I dont know how i used crap ones before..
everything is so much better with a decent tripod.

i would really recommend a good solid tripod.

trying to remember what i paid off the top of my head and the model i got..
(i keep it in the trunk of my car and im in bed so im not moving lol)

its a manfrotto something or other, base and head.
paid about $350 for it i think

Emmet, always love when you post stuff. A main reason for me coming to this thread. Something special about the mood in some of your photos. Really like the Sandy Hook ones (the one with the branch is a bit closely cropped imo though ) and the bench!

i want to get a new lens, but don't know which one to get next. i can't blow my brains out with L-series lenses unfortunately, so i have to be somewhat budget minded. what i already have is: Canon EOS 60D, Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 EF-S IS, Canon 50mm f/1.8 EF, Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash,
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, Sigma AF 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM, so of the ones i've listed, which would you get? if you can think of anything else, feel free to mention it.

Canon 24mm or 28mm f/2.8, 50mm macro f/2.5, 35mm f/2, 85mm f/1.8 or 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

bigc, I would hold off if I were you and just save up. Maybe down the road you can get a faster prime or something that would really reward you. It seems like you are well covered already. Unless you feel you are losing something with the lenses you have already?

thanks for the advice, but here's more of the scenario: i've received some extra cash, not a whole lot, and my significant other already has plans to spend it, but she says that i should buy something for myself first. having been granted permission to spend my own money, i don't want to miss this opportunity. hence my desire to get a new lens.

Yea it was leaning big time. Almost seems like a distortion issue with the lens lol.
