Yea I like Tokina. I had that 35mm Tokina macro for awhile.

Actually my concern is reach. Might look more towards the sig/tam 150/180mm macros.

You might want to download a good noise filter. HDR normally introduces quite a bit of noise (as evidenced by your shots).

the noise adds character, removing the noise just makes the whole thing look too processed.

that's what i think, too, but it depends on the picture; sometimes i remove the noise when i want a clean picture, but most times noise makes it seem more authentic.

yeah, overdone noise is terrible but have it just right is really great.

be aware of things that move, like the clock pendulum, playing with the ghosting modes/options in your hdr software can reduce the effect

High shutter speeds and lots of pictures lol.

Try shooting larger birds at first. The smaller guys move around so much. Even when it looks like they're still, they're twitching probably.

That panorama is, in TIF format, 888mb. 13816x4817 pixels. It was made from 10 21mp RAW's lol

Don't understand why TIF is so much more bloated than RAW, that's like only 250mb of images.

None of these are cropped. I will probably crop out a good portion of the foregrounds as it doesn't really add much to the scene except mess.

HDR + Panorama @ Johannesburg Airport


The large lake in the middle of pilanesberg, this image is 21 pictures wide times 3 exposures. Took quite some time and fiddling to get right.
