What monitors are you guys using to do your editing? My Gateway TN panels aren't really up to the task. Scott, your edits of my photos look good. I just got back from vacation and decided to post them without any post-processing.

        I have a Samsung 2243 22" Widescreen.

What I'm gunning for is the Dell 2209WA IPS. The Samsung is going on eBay today. I buddy of mine got the number/email of the rep that set him up a biz account and was able to get the unit for $250 taxed and shipped express.

Sweet. I guess I'll use the extra money to set aside for the 60D, if it should ever see the damn light of day. Why it hasn't been announced yet is ridiculous. If they are not doing the 60D, at least firmware update the 50D to do video. Hopefully the 60D will be sick & wicked.

          I have an HP 2509m 25".

I wanted to get a smaller IPS panel, but after some research I found out they're actually not good for photography as one would assume. TN panels do a better job at relaying what will be printed, and what other people will see on a website. At least, that's what I gathered.

Hmm... that's interesting. I had assumed that an IPS panel would be best.

I always heard that TN was the worst for pictures. Poor viewing angles.. color reproduction.

They are the way to go if you want the cheapest, largest image.. or you want the fastest response times for games.. but I think in terms of image quality, they suffer.

I came across something interesting today which this is my first attempt... so bare with me with this.

When viewing this image try crossing your eyes, at some point the images will merge and that's when you try to lock it and focus. Once you've done it correctly you should see the middle image pop out and become 3D!!! Not perfect as its my first attempt and it may take time for some to get the cross eyed focusing right (took me a bit and a one or two headache's later) but it worked... i personally find this very neat and has TONS of potential!

Try it out and let me know!

PS - its probably easier if you make it full 1024x768

it works but make sure your eyes are level with the picture!

What I think it is was me playing around with the aperture to get enough light in. Some of those are shot with it wide open as I didn't want to go too high with the ISO since I've been experiencing banding issues at high ISO levels. I've been able to avoid the banding by shooting to the right by 1/3. I tried to keep my ISO no higher than 1600. But I got a little print out that I'm going to use to test focusing issues.
