I've been wearing a n95 mask for a bit now. People do look but **** em. If half the people took it seriously this would be a lot less serious. Plus some people avoid you which is another bonus.

Btw those n95 can be used a lot longer for this situation. All it does is block the large water droplets containing the virus. If you disinfect the mask, the virus is dead and then it will work basically as good.

You can disinfect by using steam, oven, hydrogen peroxide (they're using this in medical situations), uva-c, and also just by rotating it (don't use for a week)

The only face covering I have is the bandana I use when I ride (skull nose/mouth in front) and I’ve gotten some weird looks whilst wearing that while getting groceries. So we are at the worst of the infection period here in WI and my pops is so stir crazy yesterday he is like I am going out fishing in the morning. Then he comes back and is like I am going out for lunch!! I am like WTF

i have 4 n95's i rotate them and keep them in their own ziploc bag on the truck dash in the heat and sun for a hour after use

That's not unique to this virus though, it's called a cytokine storm and you are correct in that it often does more damage (even fatal) to the body than the invader itself...which is ironic. The flu is also known to cause this, as well as many other viruses.

But I also read a theory that covid-19 could be suppressing the immune system (similar to how HIV does only not as effective) which could explain why it takes so long to get rid of it.

Its a common thing tho its why we have so many anti inflammatory drugs and anti histamines are so often recommended to calm the immune system down after a cold.

Im sure they are using a bunch of these in clinical tests on covid patients.

Less testing doesn't really mean a second wave, does it? If anything you'd see less cases. But I guess you could say they might relax rules and then you'd see a second wave.

Less testing means less people knowing they have it, which equals more people getting sick and increasing the death count. But many states are already running out of testing kits, so what appears to be the peak may not necessarily be the peak.

You also have to figure in the push to end stay at home orders earlier than they should, and states that are refusing to put stay in orders in place, is also going to be a large factor in the second wave.

Hart's Island in NY has been a public burial ground for a couple hundred years. It's estimated that since it was established back in the 1700's (I think), over a million people have been buried on that island.

So it makes sense that it would be where we'd put coronavirus victims.
