The scary thing about this is how different everyone seems to get it. It's alllergy season here, and my wife has been sick with no fever for a while, I've had sniffles, and get shortness of breath. She came down with a headeache and a fever, but then she was fine. For all I know we had/have/beat it.

Or it's just allergies, because it's spring, and this **** happens every year with pollen. I dunno.

I did have viral and bacterial pneumonia several times as a kid, so maybe I built up antibodies to that ****?

I feel perfectly fine, and she does as well now along with the kids. Still staying put just in case.

I have allergies as well, and not just outside stuff - dust, pet hair, all kinds of stuff. So I've had a headache for a couple of days and allergy symptoms, but no fever or cough or anything else. I don't know what I should do - for all I know, I could have it, but tests are so unavailable, what if I self-quarantine now and it turns out I'm fine, and then I do come down with it later? Not to bring P&R into this, but I really wish the people in charge would have been more prepared for this. I have no idea what to do, and I'm sure the stress is causing more problems than anything. (Besides the fact that I'm a natural worrier to begin with.)

It doesn't say why he fell and hit his head. plenty of examples of people with the virus who suddenly collapse. There was video all over the place from china back in January of them, some with pools of blood around their heads from hitting the sidewalk. Italy had that happening as well.

So if he had the virus and collapsed from fever and hit his head, then yes the virus killed him.

It says the primary cause was that he fell, and the virus MAY have contributed. He didn't fall because he had the virus or they would have been blasting that all over the article since they were so quick to put in the headline that a corona virus patient had died. It's bullshit fear mongering media, plain and simple.

The coroner is the one who said the fall killed him.

Either way, the point is how about we stop with the fear mongering headlines? This is the problem everyone has with the media. If they don't know for sure, how about they don't say a second CV patient in the area died, which right away makes it sound like the virus killed him?

Is the government counting people who die from everything as a COVID death? Do they get more emergency funding from the EU if they skew the numbers? Their ratio is really not right.
Do some research on Italy. From what I understand, (and I hope I'm misinformed) It's hard to mail a letter in that country. If you can't send mail properly how can you manage a crisis?

Yeah its nuts that this is affecting everyone differently. You could have it and dont even know it, show no signs and just happened to beat it, or you could be afflicted and in need of ICU, or you get it and just feel like absolute garbage for a week and recover afterwards..... The telltale sign to me if you have a good idea that you have COVID-19 seems to be difficulty breathing (or more trouble than normal) and extreme lethargic/weakness that lasts for like a week. Most other symptoms are shared with flu and whatnot.

Its almost like the universe is doing an immune system test on the population....

Yeah, and reading reports from people who were confirmed to have it say similar things.

I was sick for the first time in 3 years last week. The next day I was fine, then the next night I got sick again and went to bed early before I tossed my dinner like the previous time. Woke up fine once more. Then I tried to run on the treadmill (2 days ago) and couldn't catch my breath at all. I did half what I normally did and then had bad chest pains the rest of the night. I couldn't get my breath and it felt like someone was sitting on my chest. The next day it was better, but I still had trouble, like I was at 10,000ft altitude.

Today was better and I'm back to normal. So...same thing as you. What the hell was that about? It SEEMS similar to what's going on, yet different. It's in my area. Coincidence? Maybe, who knows.

It takes on average 5 days to get symptoms, no idea how many people have had it your area, but I'd wager it's fairly unlikely.

Also you have 0 antibodies for this virus, no one does. (except those who've recovered from it)

My Asthma has recently flared up due to the spring season starting to kick into full. So has my paranoia with everything that goes remotely wrong with my body

The worst thing is when you feel better it's usually temporary for about 24 hours, you feel crap for a few days, suddenly you feel better, then after that it's when your body will go into fight or flight mode. i.e. 24 hours of feeling better then suddenly you will get the serious side of the virus, or if you're lucky your body will win.

Personally I agree the hysteria is spreading faster than the virus. Being concerned and diligent is fine, but come on. Citizens are more uptight about the collateral damage, i.e., how this is affecting societal norms. Likewise our elected officials are trying to walk a tightrope between voluntary and mandatory enforcement. If some people are going to do the right thing, staying inside, avoiding large groups, staying home from work when sick, then everyone better be doing the same ****ing thing. When they don't, then the full force of enforcement should come crashing down on them! Regarding the numbers, so we have a metric for failure that is driven home 24/7 thanks to our beloved media and elected officials. But how about a metric for success? All I keep hearing is how we'll beat this. What constitutes a sound defeat of the covid-19 virus? And why don't we have data regarding the infected numbers current active status? Probably because once a person becomes infected, and are added to the totals, they are no longer a viable talking point.

They had a couple of 18 packs of "mega" rolls so I got one of those. Smaller packs (like 12 and 6) were slightly more plentiful but will probably be gone today I'd imagine.

The roads around here are pretty barren.
I walked to my grocery store. The road I had to cross was more busy than usual for a Sunday morning.

I wasn't going for TP but they were cleaned out.

On the way back a Mercedes AMG and a Kia Stinger GT came over the hill at about 120 MPH (speed limit is 40). There's a spot that people turn left just after the hill crests and there's always accidents there - luck was with them that it was clear this time. I think with the speed they were going, I would have gotten flattened by a rolling car.

While the pandemic has hit Germany with full force, with Johns Hopkins University noting 22,364 confirmed infections by Sunday morning, only 84 people are so far reported to have died.

This means Germany currently has the lowest mortality rate of the 10 countries most severely hit by the pandemic: 0.3% compared with 9% in Italy and 4.6% in the UK.

“One advantage Germany has is that we started doing professional contact tracing when the first cases were reported,” Addo said. “It bought us some time to prepare our clinics for the coming storm.”

Crucially, Germany started testing people even with milder symptoms relatively early on, meaning the total number of confirmed cases may give a more accurate picture of the virus’s spread than in other states.

“I assume that many young Italians are or were infected without ever being detected,” Christian Drosten, a virologist at Berlin’s Charité hospital, told the newspaper Die Zeit. “This also explains the virus’s supposedly higher mortality rate there.”
These are the highlights from the article, and from a reliable source.
