Not here, surprisingly about a 1/3 weren't wearing masks throughout the holidays.

Some Jack-Hole actually walked into Walgreens two days ago, asking if they had any home test kits, without wearing a mask.

I'm in line at the counter like WTF, if you need a test kit, don't you think you should be wearing a mask?

Flurona- flu + covid And …Delmicron - delta + omicron both confirmed I guess?

In case you thought this year was going to be better, a pregnant woman in Israel just contracted the flu and coronavirus at the same time.

Neither of those sounds like a pleasant combo. Esp the Delta one.

Its the reason why i keep getting the flu shots.
A double whammy with corona and flu at the same time isnt going to be a good time.

Do they ever get the flu shot right? The article says it was a mismatch again, I get it every year and havent got the flu since I can remember.

Throat is really bad today. Kid is also complaining about stomach pains. It’s 3 40 AM. I hate sickness.
Son puked two times. Been up since 2 AM. It’s 4 30 now. Yeah!

Damn sure doesn't seem like they do does it?

Hopefully we get an mRNA flu vaccine one day that does them all.

Yeah that would be nice, plus the turnaround for mRNA is supposedly quicker so they may actually get it more right than their current track record. The flip side is a segment of the population will then get ravaged by the flu (not that they think that is a big deal).

They don't get the flu shot yearly either. No loss there.

                          Whoof... Omicron, right?

Still perplexed by the state lines thing. Wonder if that's due to the types of tests being used, more false positives, more false negatives, etc.

Thanks man. Been a rough night and now day. Am at it since 2 AM. All doctors are saying that you did the Covid test too soon. It might take 4-5 days before our Covid might show positive. I hate Covid. Hopefully we get ahead of this soon as a family.

Elder son was also coughing in the morning and my cough worsened over night.

The only one that really stands out to me is Indiana. That's a strong divide line on the western edge which can't be explained by population density, etc.

A lot of the other stuff that looks odd can be explained away by county lines/averaging. A single big city in a large county might actually have a stronger signal county-wide than reality... ie the city has high rates, but suiburbs less, but because of the way they report you don't see that level of granularity. I think the portion of California bordering on Nevada and the Nevada spike might be that sort of thing.

After my recent experience I think cases are severely underreported. If only 1 person tests positive that’s what gets reported. Pretty sure that all of us have it but we tested negative. Most insurance providers don’t allow multiple tests for same patient for less than 14 days which also means many people won’t retest a negative even though they maybe positive. There are massive queues at the hospitals and massive drive through lines for testing so pretty sure this **** is at least 1/2 or 1/4 reported vs actuals. That also explains the huge surge of cases day by day.

Easily double or triple the reported numbers. You can't even get a test here right now aside from huge drive thru lines. Some providers are just not even taking appointments anymore.

I tested positive. So glad I’m vaccinated, because this is wrecking me right now. I don’t even want to know what it would be like with no vaccine.

Thankfully, thus far I've avoided COVID, though I did get a rather nasty week-long GI "flu" that may have been COVID back in March 2020 (and I'm still living with the aftereffects). I've been somewhat forceful with a few friends about the need to get vaccinated because I'm well aware of the potential ramifications, and more than once I've been told to back off, seemingly because they simply don't take the risk seriously. It's incredibly frustrating. So much head shaking in their general direction...

                                              Get well soon!

Sorry to hear that Lazy. I came back from the hospital after 6 hours as son was on IVs. Came home, fed him and he vomited again. Glad I did the whole IV bottle so at least for the time being he will remain hydrated. Will attempt again in 3-4 hours to see if he can take some food.

Also sent his second covid test. Fingers crossed that he is still negative. Meanwhile elder son is coughing like mad and me too. Wife is strolling around though as it seems she has recovered.

Thankfully sounds like everyone's vaccinated which means you will likely be fine. I know some unvaccinated 30-something year old's with covid right now that are in the hosiptal on oxygen and anti-biotics. Omicron may be less severe, but still super serious for the unvaccinated.
