so apparently there's a doctor on youtube (john campbell) who disagrees with CDC's guidelines for immunization.

he said that the person administering vaccine shots should be drawing back on the plunger to make sure no blood comes out, which the CDC says is not necessary.

i'm wondering how many of you had the person giving the shot pull the syringe plunger to make sure the vaccine isn't going directly into a vein, or something.

I heard that's based on a certain scientific study, and that study turned to be garbage.

The doctor seems to be a good guy, it's not his fault.

It's just quality of published scientific papers gone really downhill these days.

Stories like this are why I’ve asked my wife and daughters to NOT engage anyone in a discussion about why they ought to be vaccinated. The Docs and nurses in my family and friends haven’t told any stories like that, but I have heard of massive temper flare ups and shoving.

So…just let it go and move on, and away. No need to chance being hurt over someone else’s stupidity.

It was predicted in the beginning that if enough people don't get vaccinated, the virus will mutate and the pandemic will be extended. And guess what happened. So, it's not just a matter of ignoring these people because the problems THEY create are not going away. It's hard to not feel anger and resentment. But, those are also wasted emotions as it will change nothing and only make things worse. I've had to end family relationships because of this. I don't have enough patience to just let things like this lie forever. So, just ending the relationship was my only option. It's really sad.

We have a lot of tension, or complete disassociation from some family members over this, and yes it’s sad. Primarily because, within my family anyway, the tensions are almost all politically based. It makes zero sense whatsoever.

Sorry to worry all, honestly, I've been so busy the past 10 days during quarantine with being stuck at home with the kids, and wife. We had to keep busy and go out driving quite a bit to keep our sanity. I completely forgot I even posted in this thread.

As far as myself, today I returned to work. I'm fine, mild symptoms, loss sense of smell and taste, but the biggest pain was I had a pretty bad eachache which evidently is a newer~ symptom. Still have some fluid in the ear, and a mild cough otherwise I feel normal again.

Here's roughly what my timeline/symptoms were like. Wife still feels like she's on the early end of it, she was never vaccinated though so it makes sense. She's getting her smell/taste back but still feels 'sinusy'. Kids, you'd think nothing ever happened. Granted, I was about to kill them myself if I was home anymore.

Day 1 Extreme thrist, I was downing 8-10 waters of bottle a day, never felt quenched.
Day 2 Normal sinus symptoms, fever, clamy.
Day 3 Felt like I had a full on sinus infection that skipped the sore throat part, burning nose sensation, loss taste / smell.
Day 4 Cough Started / tracked my O2 saturation, stayed normal.
Day 5 Earache started
Day 6-10 Started to return normal

Boosted a few hours ago with half shot Moderna. Sore arm so far.

My wife only experienced a sore arm and some fatigue. nothing major. just went to bed at 10 PM rather than stay up later as she would normally on a Saturday. Her arm was sore enough to wake up from it if she rolled on it.

Wife got fever yesterday and still is knocked out (fever, soreness, chestpain, sore arm). Seems to be common for cross-vaccination. Well, we'll see how it works out in the long term. At least we're fully vaccinated and boostered now.

I got news for ya...even if almost everyone got vaccinated we'd still be in this exact same scenario just with less cases and less deaths. The virus would still be spreading to millions of people and still be mutating. Where I live the vast majority of people are fully vaccinated, we've had several lockdowns, and the vast majority of places require masks and people have been abiding by this...the virus is still spreading and cases are still going up. The pie-in-the-sky ideas of this being beat if only we did x, y, or z are so far gone..this is endemic now and isn't going away anytime soon. I feel like people are looking for any excuse to point their finger at someone else for this situation or to put their anger on. I couldn't give a damn if my neighbour gets vaccinated or not, that's none of my damn business. Being vaccinated doesn't stop you from getting it or spreading it or having it mutate..it just reduces the likelihood and with the huge number of people that have contracted the virus this is gonna keep on going...even the booster doesn't prevent this.

I know I won't be getting the booster unless the threat of a new variant is so bad that it makes it unwise to skip it. I got very alarming side effects from the Moderna vaccine...I suspect that I had a form of heart swelling that exacerbated the heartbeat irregulatirties I already have. I told the nurses about this and they recorded it...my doctor recommended that I not get any booster as my 2nd vaccine shot has far worse effects and they lasted much longer. Obviously the number of people that shouldn't get shots or boosters is very small but they do exist.

Gotta wonder how much Pfizer and Moderna stand to make from all these booster shots? and how much they'll make from the inevitable new version of vaccine that'll likely come out in a few more months promising to offer better protection from all these new variants...and likely boosters for that? hmmm...wonder how much money they spend lobbying the governments? wonder how much the FDA gets from them as I hear the FDA gets around 40% of its funding from big pharma.

Sad thing is I know what there are so many conspiracy theorists and skeptics out there...because we live in a world full of lies and greed. Politicians get lobbied by big pharma, scientists can be swayed by politicians paying their salaries or giving them funding, FDA gets money from big pharma, media puts out information that can be paid for by big sources behind the scenes, doctors can give out information or drugs based on who gives them kickbacks, some hospitals were doing shady things in order to get more funding...it seems like as long as there's enough money exchanging hands almost everyone can be bought off. We may never find out where this virus actually came from because IF it was created in a lab and certain people in high places were funding it and aware of it they will do everything possible to cover it up.

I really do hate this world sometimes...I know there's a lot of good out there but lately it seems like the bad, hateful, greedy, untrustworthy types have taken over and are now the majority of the population

I got my booster at 10:30 AM and 12 hours later, the affects started to hit me with a general feeling of "coming down with something". I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 1:30 and had a headache, soreness and chills. Bad sleep until I got up at 7. Such a headache. Took tylenol and asked my father in law to take the kids to school.

I slept for about 30 minutes and woke up with the headache gone. Still sore, but feeling about 80% now. Will finish my christmas shopping as planned.

Talked to my brother today. He's an OBG out in Indiana. He says his hospital's ICU is full of covid patients, and not a single one were vaccinated. His hospital has zero vaccinated ICU patients. If you're not vaccinated yet, go get vaccinated.
