With my kids heading to school up in Washington this weekend, this is AWESOME news. 1 down, 49 to go.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has brought back a statewide mask requirement and ordered all public, private and charter school employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as subject to their employment.

they called me to pick up my dad that did test positive for covid 5 days after his positive test

Good to hear. When my dad got covid it scared the hell out of me because he's both elderly and has diabetes. Interestingly, his worst symptom was extreme fatigue and because he laid in bed in one position for over a week he did end up in the hospital and then physical therapy for 2 months. The Dr.s were amazed that his lungs never showed any signs of pneumonia as he was a high risk group for that, he just had a minor cough.

But yes, once my dad started feeling better every call had a "I WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE" comment in there somewhere.

Tell the black group....i dunno seems like you can be a "racist" by saying anything to them nowadays.

Tell the bible thumping group that god will save them...not the vaccines...see how many die.

And if they do, just say it was all god's plan. He wants to cull the earth of overpopulation and they were the chosen.
And if they say why doesnt he take the sinners? Tell them the sinners dont believe in god so god doesnt bother with them.

Dude, it's already been happening for like a while now. New York made choices early on. Most places are making choices now. They have been and currently are sending people home on oxygen that should be monitored in the hospital because they are out of space. When beds, or really anything for that matter, get in short supply then hospitals have to make choices.

They have been prioritizing patients all along.

This just adds another category for their decision making process.

It's no different than the organ donor transplantation team deciding to give a liver to the guy that lived a healthy life over the alcoholic.

We had a walkthrough and spoke with the teachers this morning. The mitigation efforts are so-so, and we are going to allow our kids to be in-person on Monday.

We'll just take it day by day and see how things go. They got great masks, lots of ventilation from the HVAC. The classrooms have two large windows each and *if the teachers work hard to keep airflow moving, we just might be ok for the next 6-8 weeks until the vaccine arrives.

Not going to lie though, this isn't mitigation it's incubation.

God help us all.

My old Boss's kid is already under quarantine for two weeks after the first week of school. The worst part? They have no home school plan! How are these people this damn stupid?

My wife’s a teacher. High school physics, chemistry, anatomy, and biology. Last year and over the summer she recorded nearly every lesson on video. In the event of another shut down she will assign the appropriate videos with the selected lab or work sheets. She’s ready.

Not sure how this post isn't P&R bait, but at this point if the FDA has reason to deny approval, they won't simply because it's too widespread. Too many have already gotten it. Somehow reminds me of this Patrick Stewart skit. "I've already seen it. I've seen everything."

What if the vaccine makes you less immune to the common cold? What if the vaccine, considering you can still get infected and produce virus, increases the chance of a vaccine resistant variant? Etc. Lots of questions, and anyone who has an answer is only guessing.

For the record I am vaccinated, but totally sympathize with those who are skeptical.

I have employees in the UK and India who tell me that there's a significant politicization of vaccines in those regions as well... probably not as extreme as in the states, but it's still there.

Yeah, because of waning immunity. That's a known known. People who got the vaccine 'early' have less immunity over time. A simple booster shot is all that is needed.

Not getting all P&R here but I bet that about 80% of the FUD hitting the world over Covid today is from one country that coined the phrase propaganda.
