Powerful stuff. But honestly with a populace so numb to almost everything, it takes images like this to shock people into paying attention.

Yesterday I also learned that anti-test is a thing. My unvaccinated assistant took his family on vacation to Florida last week. Upon his return, and upon the advice of our doctor and risk management, I asked him to get tested before returning to work. He's declining, opting instead for the 10 day quarantine. Which puts undue load on the rest of my staff. Great 20 something kid, one of my best employees. And I'll probably lose him over this, because at some point I'm going to have to mandate testing at the very least. Why? "I only go to the doctor if I'm feeling sick".

Seeing this is only going to affect people that are already doing the right things. The others, even if they see this, will dismiss it as fake news or propaganda. Most likely staged. Some crisis actor hired to make a PR spot. , ....

We've already seen this cycle 100 times. Today, most of the people in the ICU with Covid in the southeast US are still refusing to get vaccinated. Trying to reason this out is pointless. It is what it is. It's sad. But, the only option left is to leave it to Delta to sort all this out.

Honestly, event that doesn't seem to work for some. I have an uncle struggling to recover, and his son-in-law was sent home with oxygen Friday, just a few days out of the ICU, because they needed the bed for more critical patients.

Meanwhile my nurse sibling and her nurse husband are still anti-vax, as is my brother. If our cousin dies, maybe that will budge them, but I honestly doubt it at this point. People are digging in.

My mom also informed me that she has a DNR in place that if her heart stops, or she stops breathing thy are not to revive her.. Life pretty much sucks all around right now for myself and my family.

I’ve had more PCR tests than anyone I know (at least 70 by now), been quarantined more than anyone I know (more than 4 months worth), and am more vaccinated than anyone I know (two doses of sinopham and two doses of moderna). To say I despise the antivax and “COVID is a lie” people is an understatement. I am absolutely tired of their complete idiocy and whining. The most completely selfish people I have ever met, they try and act all bad ass like, “if I get it, oh well I get it, it will be my time to go”, but then clog up the hospitals when they get it and other people end up dying because of it. Man it makes me so angry just thinking about it. Sorry if I’m just rehashing what’s already been said, but as someone who has done more than all the right things and effectively had a 4+ month prison sentence because of these idiots, I just want to yell 😂

And he doesn't want the "brain swab" version. I can work with that, and am ordering supplies so that we can test here at the office for situations where a doctor visit isn't as practical.

I take a drug that makes me immunocompromised. Studies have shown that something like 40% of hospitalizations in breakthrough cases are of people that are immunocompromised. Long story short, I qualified for the booster and my doc suggested that I get it. So I did.

Luckily, there were tons of places that had it here seeing as many Oklahomans don't believe in the vaccine.

if I got it covid is very very regular

7:30pm my nose starts running and a very mild headache starts and some sneezing
then at 8:30pm my temp goes to 99.4 even if I take Advil and or Tylenol before 6pm
then the fever breaks every night at 2am and wakes me up in a pool and I have to take a bath and chance pillows

rest of the time I am normal no problem

this could all be my bad left tonsil also it does hurt a little

Was just talking to my wife about school. We have to go to orientation for both my girls tonight.

We know that even with masks there's going to be outbreaks. I'm curious if those nutjobs will change their tune if their kids get it, and end up really sick, then start talking to their friends at school who were vaccinated by their abusive parents, and they say they had mild cases. Oklahoma has 2,360 new cases as testing dries up in the state. Tests seem to be hard to come by here now. 23,380 active cases. 1,385 hospitalized. 48 of those are kids in the ICU with kids ICU beds gone. Kids have diverted to Denver from Oklahoma. Adult beds are all but gone now in the major hospitals in the state. No idea where they are sending those people.

Officially, 41.7% of the state is now vaccinated.

The other thing about it is 1% of the 7,674,000,000 population of the planet is 76,740,000. And that's if the mortality rate is really 1%, I am guessing it's probably higher, particularly in less developed countries.
