Two SC school districts have shut down after only two weeks. One is shutting down for two weeks, the other is going full remote.
The SC lawmakers passed a law that says any school district with more than 5% of their students being remote loses funding. It also states that school boards aren't allowed to mandate masks.

woke up last night with a 99.2 fever a little low for covid took advil and Tylenol one of each
then woke up in a pool of sweat this morning
so I got something seems like a light flu or cold
had a little headache last with the fever last night
and coughing up a very little phlegm this morning but being a 12 year heavy ex smoker that's nothing new
it's all very mild
dad was doing better last night and they are trying to move him out of ICU as soon as they can get a regular room
he still has no covid symptoms but they flat refuse to retest him
maybe because if he pops negative now after putting him in a covid ward I would be pissed as hell
I will get retested tomorrow or the next day at the VA

Looks more like a "Sunday cases plus Monday cases are reported as Monday evening cases" thing to me. Hovering the graph to the right shows 0 cases yesterday, and the trend follows back for Sundays.

Crashing computers, three-week delays tracking infections, lab results delivered by snail mail: State officials detail a vast failure to identify hotspots quickly enough to prevent outbreaks.
An interesting read on the covid case reporting.
The local news had a piece on this with the head of Oklahoma's Health Department basically saying that it can't handle the surges.

Our school board had an emergency meeting yesterday, and voted for masks. The "that's child abuse" crowd are going nuts right now. I had one woman say, that me allowing my kids to get vaccinated was child abuse.
I've just started trolling them hard. I told one idiot that the microchip they are planting in us is powered by a tiny fusion reactor so advanced that it can run 100 years without refueling. Since you're not going to change their mind, you might as well have some fun with them...

Oh dear God, someone responded to my comment about kids wearing masks, and me joking about how I love that I can track my kids on my phone now after they got the vaccine.
"Are you serious? If you can track them on your phone the government can too! Aren't you worried about privacy?"
I almost pissed myself.

tell them you charge your mobile with the chip, but it's sometimes not easy to have the kids sit in one place for over an hour so the mobile gets fully charged....

you should tell them the microchips also have the ability to allowin you to divide by 0. And you wont tell them what the answer is, they'll have to find out for themself.------Squachbox 2022------

Meanwhile my nurse sibling and her nurse husband are still anti-vax, as is my brother. If our cousin dies, maybe that will budge them, but I honestly doubt it at this point. People are digging in.

Yesterday I also learned that anti-test is a thing. My unvaccinated assistant took his family on vacation to Florida last week. Upon his return, and upon the advice of our doctor and risk management, I asked him to get tested before returning to work. He's declining, opting instead for the 10 day quarantine. Which puts undue load on the rest of my staff. Great 20 something kid, one of my best employees. And I'll probably lose him over this, because at some point I'm going to have to mandate testing at the very least. Why? "I only go to the doctor if I'm feeling sick".

Isn't it 14days? And that just to see if symptoms develop. They could be asymptomatic, it's not a replacement for testing.-Trunks0
