Watched Equalizer 3 and it's one of the better movies I have seen this year. Liked it a lot more than John Wick 4.

Ted - 7/10. The Flash Gordon bits were hilarious, the rest was just a very long episode of Family Guy. Could probably be an 8 if it were just the Flash Gordon bits.

A Dark Song. Low budget slow burn supernatural flick but well done. Good cast, good writing and cool ending. No wonder Mike Flanagan took him on to direct some eps of Haunting of Bly Manor.

I re-watched Intersteller over the last nights. One of my all-time faves.

Triangle of Sadness . . . .8/10
It's on Hulu. It was one of last year's Oscar nominees. What looks to be a piece about high-fashion models turns into a battle for survival and a commentary on social hierarchy-- and it's a comedy! Plus Woody Harrelson has a minor but important role. If you're tired of superhero comic book pablum, check this out.
If you are prone to sea-sickness, have a barf bag handy.

Arrival - 7/10 Quite a bit of a slow burn to get going and it's more of a thinking movie. I dunno the time it took to get going plus the subject matter doesn't let me rate the movie as highly as the buzz surrounding it when it came out.

So I watched
The Boogeyman 2023. 2/10. Waste of time. Jeez ... they shot 99% of this movie in the dark (with the lights on). And uber boring.
The Last Voyage Of The Demeter 2023 1.5 / 10. Boring...

TMNT. 5/10. Good animation but very weak story and not so funny moments ruined it.
Didn’t like interpretation of Splinter and April either.

I couldn't stand Asteroid City. Gave up on it / 10.
Heart of Stone. Decent action flick / 10.
Bourne Identity. Think this was the 10th time I watched it / 10.
Jason Bourne. They were running a marathon for Bourne and I caught this last one (or major parts of it). Quite an uneven movie overall and not quite sure why it needed to be made / 10.
Not many cool movies lately.

MI DR: Over the top action BS but fun as hell popcorn flick LOL. One of the better MI's. I wanna see the French blonde in the next John Wick.

Watched it for the second time. 5 hours in a single day. I don’t remember ever doing this. What an amazing movie. If No Way Home was fan service, this just dials it up to 20. Damn.

Spider Man Across the Spider Verse. 20/10. Absolutely amazing. I didn't know they could top the first one but they did. Can't wait for the next one.

Oppie. 8-10. Was a bit scattershot in the storytelling considering the epic it was trying to cover but it managed to do so stylishly.

God is a bullet. 6/10. Could have been way higher if not 2 hours long and lots of talking
GOTG 3... 7/10. Was decent

Time cop. Never watched it when I was young. Van ****ing Damme/10.
John Wick box set on the plane. All 4 movies back to back meant that my head was buzzing with gun shots. Flight from SF to Dubai did it for me lol.
I think I also saw the locksmith decent / 10. Watched some other garbage on the plane etc.
Pretty sure I watched a lot more movies that I don’t remember.. You are a machine. Wish I had the time or energy to catch up on this much stuff on my shelf.
Three Days of the Condor. Some things havent changed that much. 8-10

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - 6.5/10. I dunno how this one is so popular. The story is serviceable and the stylistic fight scenes were a neat touch but nothing really stands out for me. I guess I'm not so nostalgic for this kitty character.

Nimona 7/10
Guardians 3 8/10. The villain was garbage but it was still excellent.

Dial of Destiny 7/10
A number of scenes could have been completely cut and that time used to tighten up the writing.
CG work on young Harrison was pretty stellar most of the time. Really enjoyed the first 20-25 minutes.

Indy 5. 5-10 appropriately. Weakest of the 5 films. Good production quality and perfs from Ford, Mads and a few others cant save the nonsensical story. Its as if they didnt know what to do with their well known historically real MacGuffin and went off to shoot what was half written.

Nimona (Netflix) - 7/10 Okay the animation isn't Disney/Pixar quality or that the story was original but it was a fun ride in a futuristic but also fantasy setting. The main character is represent which sorta adds an extra dimension to the quandaries he's in.

Moonage Daydream . . . 7/10.
This is on Max. It's the David Bowie biopic. It's not a documentary as much of a tapestry of Bowie's performances, interviews, his own personal films and photos. The guy was probably one of the most filmed and photographed entertainers of all time. Personally I liked Bowie's LA phase the most (Ziggy, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station), but the ending of this movie is the best part. Bowie himself came to terms with his own career later in his life and acknowledged he became something of a mainstream sell-out in the 80's, but so did a lot of people.
