Dungeons and Wagons: Honor among thieves - 7/10 Decent fairly brainless. Not that deep. Funny enough

Evil Dead Rise - 7.5/10 okay horror that breaks down occasionally. Alyssa Sutherland is pretty creepy.

Renfield - 6.5/10 Another fairly average movie but with a cool dracula toxic relationship

It Follows - 8/10 Unusual but effective horror. Surprised it doesn't have a sequel but that's probably for the best

John Wick 4 : 6-10. Bit over the top but the end of Chapter 3 kind of pointed to that. Still it got a bit gaudy. I rate the earlier movies in the franchise all about 8-10.

Loved the first two. This one was just "meh" imo. They took the coolest character, Rocky, and basically put him to sleep through almost the whole movie. The poor pitiful mutant animal buddies origin story was for kids in some disturbing way? Pratt and Soldana had nothing to do. Kudos to Klementieff and Bautista.

Turning Red Pixar (7/10) - This movie is soooo Toronto. I'd probably give it a 6.5 overall but there's a part of it is sooo relatable and also it's so fluffy! But yeah it's a coming of age story with some supernatural bits.

John Wick 4, it was kinda mixed feelings because while the action was fun, it was also so goofy that i just cant take any of it seriously like I could with the first movie. Feels a bit like fast and furious where it jumped themes/power levels.

The Angry Birds Movie - 6/10. Noticed this was new on Netflix and I've never seen it before. Yeah it wasn't terrible but targeting a younger audience and not leaving much for anyone else.

I liked it, too. TBH, Fletch was one of the few Chevy Chase movies I really liked. Caddyshack was the other but that was more ensemble [RIP Rodney]. I thought some of his movies were hideous. The first Vacation movie was OK but the rest were tripe.

Moonage Daydream . . . 7/10.

This is on Max. It's the David Bowie biopic. It's not a documentary as much of a tapestry of Bowie's performances, interviews, his own personal films and photos. The guy was probably one of the most filmed and photographed entertainers of all time. Personally I liked Bowie's LA phase the most (Ziggy, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station), but the ending of this movie is the best part. Bowie himself came to terms with his own career later in his life and acknowledged he became something of a mainstream sell-out in the 80's, but so did a lot of people.

Nimona (Netflix) - 7/10 Okay the animation isn't Disney/Pixar quality or that the story was original but it was a fun ride in a futuristic but also fantasy setting. The main character is represent which sorta adds an extra dimension to the quandaries he's in.

Indy 5. 5-10 appropriately. Weakest of the 5 films. Good production quality and perfs from Ford, Mads and a few others cant save the nonsensical story. Its as if they didnt know what to do with their well known historically real MacGuffin and went off to shoot what was half written.

A number of scenes could have been completely cut and that time used to tighten up the writing.

CG work on young Harrison was pretty stellar most of the time. Really enjoyed the first 20-25 minutes.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - 6.5/10. I dunno how this one is so popular. The story is serviceable and the stylistic fight scenes were a neat touch but nothing really stands out for me. I guess I'm not so nostalgic for this kitty character.
