Just saw Prey and it is definitely the best Predator movie since the original. I liked how the predator matched firepower with whatever its target was. Although, the stealth kill near the end was a hacker move when it was in a bit of trouble. But otherwise, it went hand to hand, spear, or ranged, whenever the opponent did. It made the fights seem possible and made sense from the challenge perspective for the hunter. It also worked with the original as Arnie and crew brought serious firepower with them. Surprisingly, the ending actual worked. The entire setup had me doubting they could pull it off. But, they did. Beautiful British Columbia really shined as well. Enjoyable surprise (8/10)

Like I said, possibly wrong, but that’s how I read it.
The French Fur Trade was huge in North America at the time. This was historical correct:

Prey. Pretty good outing for the franchise. I put it as good as the Adrian Brody one.
If I have to give one critique its that French fur traders and trappers usually kept very good relations with native tribes. Just not smart or good for business as the French were far fewer in number than native populations and that was the case till the end of French rule in NA. Tho they did ally with some tribes who had enemies with others. Such as the Hurons vs the Iroquois. Or with varied tribes vs the British they didnt willy nilly seek out to abuse native peoples at the time. They were also very willing to intermarry with them and convert them to catholicism as that helped to create bonds... but yea that whole thing was more to showcase the european conquest aspect which all empires from across the pond engaged in to some extent so that works on some level for the film.Last edited by pax; Aug 13, 2022, 07:37 PM.I talked to the tree. Top Gun Maverick. Watched it again. Good old fashion women ribbing. American promiscuous heterosexual love story. Abandoned damaged kids. Guilty parents. The quintessential American movie from 70s / 10.

Hey guys - Joking or otherwise can we please leave labeling groups orientation as nonsense, or anything else that can be seen as derogatory?
I do understand some are uncomfortable with certain representations in film and on TV, but let’s refrain from bashing here on the forum.
Thanks for understanding.

I just watched Orphan and First Kill back to back. Both are pretty decent, First Kill is pretty good at telling the backstory.

But, I give them credit for the twist in this one. It was far-fetched, but it was an unexpected way of not just rehashing the exact same story from the first one.

Fury - the brad pitt tank movie.
overall i liked it but i feel like there were serious issues with building up the character's backgrounds and setting up the story better. it just felt rushed? or something. it could have been WAY better i think. brad pitt is freaking god though. carried that movie. Shia was surprisingly good too.Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

Also I can't be the only one a little annoyed how they glazed over the fact of how exactly he stole an F-18 to do his canyon run. Pretty sure you can't just steal a jet like that... At least show him having to bribe some grounds person to sneak on or something. They show them stealing a plane later on but that was in the middle of a bombed-out airport in another country with lots of chaos going on...Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

Prey: 7.5/10
Enjoyed it. fresh setting, interesting concept, well executed for a hulu movie.
Forgot to mention that watched 13 Lives...also enjoyed that as a family watch movie. Have no idea why amazon says 16+ age group...its really pg as far as I'm concerned.
8/10Take what you want...and then pay for it...

Samaritan on Amazon. It's not very good at all.
Will give it to Stallone for the little he was able to do at 76 years old.
