Because it had a conclusion to a 5 movie long arc for Bond. The ending was the right one as well.

it was a boring love story with someone who was coincidental named Bond, the usual bad guy who wants to kill X amount of people, no interesting cars/gadgets, the usual action scenes we've seen in literally every action movie and the end, well, a bit overly dramatic, wasn't it?

that's of course just my personal view on it, as usual.

          You have no soul.

But it was an amazing Bond movie. Had the tools I thought, like Aston Martin, Smart Blood (I know repeat), and the whole DNA targeting bomb thing. Also had sonar type gadget. Could’ve used more gadgets sure.

As for bad guy, I think they did some cool things with it. Like using enemy of Bond’s weapon against their own. Killing off Bond Nemesis without giving him the satisfaction. And a few others.

As for love story. Bond always has a love story. It is never over the top. This time rather than him sexing bitches at will, he falls in love with his old flame plus daughter and also wanted to close the chapter on another one (not your typical Bond move).

Not to mention the visuals of the movie were so well done that it is one of the best produced movies I have seen. Every scene feels carefully crafted (like when he parks his Aston at the square and bell is ringing and it is perfectly parked in the center. Made my OCD not run rampant like Michael Bay films do it. Just done beautifully from start to end.

Anyways, I loved it and you didn’t. It’s all good.

Watched Dashcam. This movie is nuts. Few scenes made me cringe (in a good way).

At the start of the pandemic, an indulgent and self-deluded livestreaming improv musician abandons L.A. for London, steals her ex-band mate's car, and makes the wrong decision to give a ride to an elderly woman who is not what she seems.

Lots of people wondering what they'll do with the next Bond treatment when they reboot for the next movie. Maybe they'll go with a much younger Bond, maybe even a teenager? My proposal is to go all the way back to the beginning:

can't wait for the transgender bond, Jane Bondine. Will watch 10/10

No, wait, even better, just scratch that Bond, make the Bond-girls the main cast, win-win! They could call it "Bond's Angels"

A very shallow but thrilling/entertaining movie. Top Gun: Maverick is a great movie if you just want to turn your brain off and enjoy the ride.

Watched Top Gun: Maverick again but this time in IMAX with Laser. First time around was in a Dolby Cinema. I watched it again for the sole purpose of comparing the theaters (first time I've watch the same movie in both theaters). I think I definitely preferred the IMAX presentation. Screen was bigger and the sound was louder, clearer, and more impactful. The bass sounded cleaner, louder, and deeper as well.

Also, while IMAX has far fewer speakers than a commercial Atmos setup, for some reason commercial Atmos presentations, to me at least, usually seem "front heavy" (i.e. most sound coming from the front of the theater/screen). I basically can never really hear the overhead speakers and the surround speakers not that much more either. My local IMAX with Laser theater is very well maintained and calibrated and the you can clearly hear sounds from the surrounds and overheads. By the way, the local Dolby Cinema and IMAX with Laser theaters are from different theater chains. The chain that has the IMAX with Laser doesn't have a Dolby Cinema and the chain that has the Dolby Cinema doesn't have an IMAX. The chain that offers the IMAX with Laser theater has very well maintained and calibrated theaters all around (even their standard theaters). Too bad this chain doesn't also have a Dolby Cinema. However, they do have Atmos theaters with laser projection. The chain that has the IMAX with Laser theater uses Krix speakers in all their theaters that are not IMAX (as IMAX theaters use their own IMAX-branded speakers). The chain that has the Dolby Cinema uses Dolby SLS speakers in all their theaters, including Dolby Cinema, and I think they have ribbon tweeters.

This was a good movie to compare both theaters and it was worth seeing the difference with the same movie.
